This has to be the dumbest pairing of a round with a weapon ever invented. Why even have a barrel? A .357 Magnum is a long range, high velocity handgun round, the value of which comes from its muzzle velocity! Muzzle velocity is proportional to barrel length! Long range requires a long sight radius! This has neither! So you have a long range caliber in a weapon you can’t hit anything with, that has a tremendous muzzle blast of unburned powder, a .38 special-class muzzle velocity, and that costs a mint for both weapon and ammunition.
