Reminds me of an NFA item someone I knew had, an H&R Handy-Gun in .410. It had a 12½” full choke barrel on it. I saw him knock down a crow flying 20-30 yards away, one day.

During the Civil War, if you could load and fire your muzzle loader 3 times a minute you were considered to be sufficiently fast. That is load, aim, and fire every 20 seconds. No small feat when handloading and ramrodding each powder / wad & ball load, especially while angry people are busily shooting at you and you can hear the bullets ripping by. Nerves of steel required. In comparison, this single shot pistol utilizing self-contained .410 shells or .45LC cartridges, could be loaded and fired as quickly as perhaps once every 5 to 10 seconds. Because I own 4 single actions in .45 Colt (2 Blackhawks & 2 SAA clones), and have reloaded for them for 3 decades, and even mould my own bullets, I have a huge amount of .45 Colt ammo… so I bought one, for $199. Zero regrets.Not my choice for self defense being a single shot, but extremely handy to have around my rural property. Being a handgun, and I have a WI ccw, I can carry it loaded in my UTV.
