On the day that President Joe Biden spoke in front of rabid anti-gun advocates, his son, Hunter Biden, was convicted of three gun-related felonies.
The younger Biden faced two charges for lying on a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Form 4473 when he purchased a Colt Cobra revolver from a Delaware gun shop. The President’s son was also charged with possessing a gun while addicted to or using illegal drugs. At the time of purchase of the firearm, Biden was using crack cocaine and various other drugs.
Under federal law, it is illegal to possess a gun while using illegal narcotics or other illicit substances. While filling out the ATF Form 4473, Hunter Biden marked that he did not have a substance use disorder of unlawful drugs. The President’s son’s legal team claimed Hunter Biden was not addicted to crack cocaine at the time of purchase, but in the end, the jury did not buy the argument.
The jury returned a guilty verdict on all counts after just three hours of deliberation early Tuesday with his mother, Jill Biden, and his wife in the gallery. The sentences for the crimes will be handed down within 120 days. Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison and a $750,000 fine, although most do not think the younger Biden will see anywhere near the maximum sentence. The guilty verdict is the first conviction of Hunter Biden, making this a first-time offense.
Joe Biden stated that he would not pardon his son as he waits for sentencing. President Biden did not mention the conviction of his son while speaking at an Everytown for Gun Safety event in Washington, DC. After the conclusion of the event, Biden commented on his son’s conviction.
“As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a dad,” President Biden said. “Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today.”
Shortly after the event, the President departed D.C. for Wilmington, Delaware, where he will meet with his son. The conviction marks the first time a member of a President’s immediate family was convicted of a crime while that President was still in office.
Hunter Biden said he was “disappointed by the outcome” of the case. The now-guilty Biden said the verdict made him “more grateful for the love and support.” While many other defendants would have been taken into custody immediately following a guilty verdict, Hunter Biden was not and was allowed to walk free.
Special Counsel David Weiss, speaking for the prosecution, said that no one was above the law. He told reporters that the case was “not just about addiction.” Weiss stated that it was about the “illegal choices” made by Hunter Biden while he was using drugs. He thanked the jury and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
The Biden legal defense team is expected to appeal the conviction. They said they would explore all options available to them. His attorney, Abbe Lowell, said they will “vigorously pursue all the legal challenges available to Hunter.” These challenges might include invoking the Bruen decision because the prosecution will be hard-pressed to find a historical analogue to the current law surrounding drug use and firearms as well as the ATF Form 4473.
Whether Hunter Biden will use landmark cases like the Bruen decision in his appeal remains to be seen.

Sole purpose of this prosecution was to support the fed over reach on the 4473 and give the appearance of treating biden(s) like Trump.
The hunter biden laptop has child porn and hunter having sex with minors including his niece not to mention highest level corruption and treason each individual crime that would send ANY OF US to prison for life and nothing but crickets………America, and every American is being played.
When did the heirs of John Hancock become such TOTAL PU$$IES?
This is supposed to convince everyone that DOJ isn’t biased against President Trump. It doesn’t work cause we have been paying attention.
Daddy will pardon him as soon as elections happen.
What a joke. It’s like convicting Stalin for failing to pay child support and ignoring his genocide.
Correct me if I’m wrong but Hunter Biden’s mother is dead. Present in the courtroom was Jill Biden, PhD, his evil STEP mother. This conviction only shows that David Weiss can be effective when he needs to be. We’ll see where the tax evasion trial goes and whether he is ever charged for being an unregistered foreign lobbyist, perjuring himself before congress, and being the bagman for the Biden crime family.
If the left is really serious about cracking down on gun crime, then the book should be thrown at Hunter Biden. A stiff sentence would also diffuse the accurate assessment that we have a two tiered legal system.
I love how it took the jury only 4 hours to decide he is guilty. Now the truth comes. How much time will he get, if any. Uncle Joe said he will not pardon him. I think back to when someone asked him a question regarding why he was not going to do what he promised on the campaign trail and he said “I lied, I am a Politian”. The left is pushing that the only reason this is happening is because he is the presidents son and it is all political because anyone else would have already been “set… Read more »
Nothing more than a temporary diversion of the news from Traitor Joe’s “zombie walk” and catatonic stare. Or is it more akin to “dead man walking”? Kamala cackling? With that cackle, she’s almost like the banshee of dfaeth…
Tail wagging the dog time. Look squirrel! Nothing tangible will come of this.
If he wins on appeal, he gets rid of this non-consensual law for everyone. If he loses, he’s an acceptable lose.
The Pres will pardon his son, but he will do it after the election. He wants to appear to be tough on gun control.
