Justified Self-Defense Shooting in Bullhead City Leaves Knife-Wielding Woman Dead

Bullhead City, AZ—  A tense confrontation in Bullhead City ended in a fatal shooting Thursday evening, August 8th, in what police are calling a clear case of self-defense.

The incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. on the 900 block of Seafair Drive when Lucindy Gale Parkison, 49, arrived at a residence armed with a knife. According to the Bullhead City Police Department, Parkison intended to confront the residents over ongoing disputes.

As tensions escalated, Parkison aggressively advanced on a female resident, pushing her against a wall and holding the knife to her throat. The victim sustained a defensive cut on her hand while trying to fend off the attack.

A male resident, witnessing the assault, armed himself with a firearm and demanded Parkison leave the property. Ignoring the warning, Parkison reportedly charged at the man with the knife. In response, the male resident fired multiple shots, striking Parkison and ending the attack.

She was pronounced DRT (dead right there) at the scene.

The altercation took place in the front yard of the residence. Police confirmed that the residents fully cooperated with the investigation, and no arrests were made. The identities of the residents involved have not been released.

This incident highlights the importance of self-defense rights in situations where lives are in imminent danger. Parkison’s aggressive actions left the residents with no choice but to protect themselves. The Bullhead City Police Department has not disclosed further details as the investigation continues.
