If you’re as hard-core into firearms as we are, chances are you’ve heard of the PSA JAKL, a game-changing rifle platform from Palmetto State Armory.

The PSA JAKL was engineered to be the perfect truck gun. Compact enough to fit under a truck seat or in the trunk of a sedan, this firearm features a folding stock and a long-stroke piston system—known worldwide for its reliability and ruggedness. This design eliminates the need for a buffer system, enabling the JAKL to maintain a small overall size while still being capable of firing when folded.

The 8-position adjustable gas block ensures smooth performance with various types of ammunition, from subsonic to supersonic rounds, whether suppressed or unsuppressed. This feature makes the JAKL a reliable companion, whether you’re heading to the range or keeping it as your go-to for self-defense.

A Platform for AR Enthusiasts

One of the standout features of the JAKL is its AR compatibility. By pairing a standard AR-15 lower receiver with an adapter, you can customize the JAKL with your favorite AR accessories, such as triggers and magazine catches. This makes it a natural choice for those already invested in the AR ecosystem.

Guns Built Tough, Guns Built Right

The JAKL isn’t just about convenience; it’s built to last. With components like an 8620 front trunnion, 4340 carrier, and a 7-lug Carpenter 158 bolt, it combines AK-style durability with AR-style modularity. The monolithic 6105 aluminum receiver and nitride-treated barrel ensure long-term performance even under harsh conditions.

For those who prioritize performance, the SureFire WarComp flash hider significantly reduces muzzle rise and eliminates over 98% of muzzle flash, making it ideal for low-light environments and faster follow-up shots.

Expanding the Rifle Platform Lineup

Initially launched in 8.5″ 300 Blackout and 10.5″ 5.56 NATO configurations, the JAKL lineup now includes rifle-length options, such as 13.7″ pinned and welded barrels and 16″ models, catering to users seeking versatility in their firearms. The latest addition to the family, the JAKL .308, is already making waves among enthusiasts.

What’s Next?

Palmetto State Armory continues to innovate with the JAKL platform. Upcoming models include bullpup designs and other exciting configurations. PSA is also exploring additional calibers, and they actively encourage feedback from their community to shape the future of the JAKL family.

Why Choose the Palmetto State Armory JAKL Weapon?

Whether you’re a seasoned AR enthusiast or someone looking for a dependable firearm that fits into tight spaces, the PSA JAKL offers unmatched versatility, reliability, and customization potential. With its side-folding stock, tool-free field stripping, and top-notch suppressor compatibility, it’s more than just a truck gun—it’s a firearm built to meet your needs, whatever they may be.

It appears most of the configurations require a $200 permission slip from the clowns at the ATF so that makes it a big no here in my house because I don’t give those clowns money for a permission slip that the constitution guarantees me . Hoping the permission slips and the ATF both go away after Jan 20th.

Nitrided barrel? I’m surprised they didn’t use the famed FN cold hammer forged, machine gun steel, chrome lined barrels they always brag about using.

I’ll stick with AR15’s.
