Pensacola, FL – A female employee at the Holiday Inn in downtown Pensacola defended herself with a legally owned firearm after being attacked in the hotel’s laundry room on Monday morning.
Pensacola Police say 35-year-old Marquise James had been stalking the woman for some time, using social media and other means to harass her. Despite previous warnings to leave her alone, James confronted the woman at her workplace and, this time, immediately began punching her. Fearing for her safety, she drew her handgun and shot James once in the leg.
“She did nothing wrong. She was protecting herself like she should’ve done,” said Officer Mike Wood of the Pensacola Police Department.
James was taken to the hospital for treatment before being booked into the Escambia County Jail on multiple charges, including battery, stalking, resisting arrest, and narcotics possession. Reports indicate that while in custody at the hospital, he kicked an officer and was found to have cocaine and marijuana in his possession.
Florida law allows legal gun owners to carry concealed weapons without a permit in most places, including the workplace. Given the circumstances, police confirmed that the woman will not face any charges.
Authorities encourage anyone experiencing stalking or harassment to report incidents to law enforcement.

The Power of Self-Defense: AmmoLand News Continues to Highlight Real-Life Defensive Gun Use Stories

BOOOOO!!! Bad shooting!!!!!!
SHOOT TILL THE THREAT STOPS……..BREATHING!!!!!
Left the POS alive to victimize others in the future.
Learn to do better.
A groin shot would have served the public better than a leg shot . His diddler with a bullet hole would most likely end it’s ability to rise to any occasion .
Well, she is still above this earth image what would have happened if she didn’t have that pistol to defend herself. Scumbag is a scumbag no matter what race they are!!!
you are correct, and someone else will have to kill him or be killed, she did no one a favor
Given typical shooting skills and training, she likely wasn’t aiming for the leg. Just shot early while raising pistol to firing position. If injury stops the attack, it is not legally defensible to finish the job.
Hopefully he’ll have a limp for remainder of his life and be less able to chase other women.
