Per the BAOFENG webpage the UV-5R model has been discontinued and some features may no longer work, like new batteries in the discontinued model.
Buyer beware.
Not trying to be redundant or annoying, just helpful. Some of the newer versions of the Baofeng UV5R radios come “locked” to only transmit on Amateur Radio frequencies, from the factory. Should you obtain one of these radios with the hope of using it on FRS, GMRS, MURS, or other frequencies, the below video tells you how to unlock the UV5R and restore its full potential transmit frequency range.
