“Just for Chuckles” Back in my day, The ‘686’ was a ‘586’. the 686 hadn’t come out in SS yet. Most Police depts refused to allow their officers to carry anything other than a revolver. In Fact, the only weapon we had was that WheelGun. Sure looks awesome. Between it’s appearance, the fire emminating from the muzzle of a .357 round and the deafening report, a perp shouldn’t need a second dose of medicine.
Esthetically, I don’t like the tapered “full lug” appearance.
But, I’m a blued steel & walnut kinda guy, only recently coming to appreciate stainless steel & walnut.

Have a Good Day
I have the 8 round version that takes moon clips, fun gun at a fantastic price
Every time I see one of these, I flash on the 1875 Remington 7½” barrel revolver. To my mind, it was/is a beautiful revolver.
I know it can vary from gun to gun, but I rarely see anybody post the actual trigger pull weigh of these revolvers. You’d think S&W would focus on guaranteeing a sub-ten pound DA pull and sub-four pound SA pull instead of adding needless bling.
