- I purchased both the Ultra (came at 1000 lumens, not the 600 listed here) as well as the Surefire Turbo. The Ultra is what you want unless you plan to shoot at 100 yards in the dark. The Ultra has a slight hotspot that allows extremely wide and clear field of view up to 30 or 40 yards. . . past that we could see something, but not identify at 100 yards. The Turbo has a much narrower field of view, but much better candela, so identification at 100 yards was easy, but inside of 30 yards you have to swing the pistol back and forth to identify anything thats not right in front of you. The Surefire Ultra is the superior pistol light in that it lights up the target as well as everything to the left and right of you without having to swing your pistol back and forth to see whats in the room/trail/field you are exploring. — Angelus V.
