At the Ready Magnetic Mounts for Pistols | Review

I attend most of the big shows and have conducted seminars at most of them, but I also love the smaller shows. I was reminded of this last week when I conducted five seminars at the GATCO Show (God and The Great Outdoors) in Tyler, Texas. I love the smaller shows because I always meet two or three entrepreneurs who invented an out-of-the-box item that is unique and impressive, and this year’s GATCO Show was no exception.

Between my seminars, I worked at a booth, but still had time to check out all of the booths. One booth with some unique items was the At-The-Ready booth. I met Sean Baptiste and asked him what he was offering.

He showed me two cool items that they designed. Today I’m going to talk about his At The Ready Mounts, which is a custom pistol mount that you can attach to the side of your bed, under the dash of your car, under your desk or pretty much wherever you want to hold your pistol close by for an emergency situation. He makes them to fit most of the popular pistols and if he doesn’t have yours, twist his arm and I bet he’ll start making them.

I got one to fit a Glock 19 to test for this Product Review, but my comments will fit the same in your situation. The At-The-Ready mount is made so that you don’t even have to have a round in the chamber. You just grab the pistol, push it forward, which of course will rack in a shell, and then pull the pistol out of the mount, and it will be hot and good to go.

So if I can carry one around without one in the chamber and yet can jack one in, in a hot second, that’s a good deal. It makes me feel a lot more comfortable. But if that whacks you out, you can leave one in the chamber and just withdraw your pistol.

It offers three options to mount the At The Ready Mount to your desired location.

1. It is magnetic, so it can attach to your metal file cabinet in your office or any metal surface.
2. It has a 3M Primer 94 glue pad on the back if you decide to use that option.
3. It comes with four screws if you’d rather screw it into your wood bed frame or under your steering wheel. Of course you could also glue it to your wood bed frame but if you screw it in, it is then easily removable so you can use it elsewhere. If so desired you have the option to screw your AT THE READY MOUNT in a hidden spot.

At first, I thought I didn’t really know if I’d need it in my truck or not. I usually have my EDC in the console or in a holster. There are two problems with these two options. In the console, it is stuck under some papers to conceal it, which can slow down your retrieval when it’s panic in the disco. And if it is in my holster, the seat belt is over the top, which will have to be unsnapped or worked around.

I’m told that you can also attach it to the metal on your side-by-side and it will not dislodge. I have not tried that option, though, so I can’t verify this.

One last feature, you can also lay an extra magazine against the side and the At The Ready Mount will hold it secure.
