More anti-Christian/anti-Western Civilization violence:
An LDS church in Grand Blanc, MI was attacked yesterday.
The single perpetrator drove his vehicle nearly all the way into the church building. Photos show it jammed halfway through the entry.
He then exited the vehicle and began shooting at parishioners who were there for normal Sunday services, using some kind of longarm (this is very similar to the 1991 Luby’s Cafeteria attack in TX)
At some point the perpetrator used gasoline he had brought along to start a fire that eventually consumed the entire structure.
Police response was courageous and nearly instantaneous, and the single perpetrator was subsequently killed in an exchange of gunfire. No LEOs were injured, but the death-toll among parishioners is five (so far), with twice that number injured.
To complicate the matter, local hospitals quickly discovered that they do not have an “unlimited capacity” to accept serious trauma cases!
My comment: When the LDS Church was young, Brigham Young delivered his sermons while wearing (openly) two revolvers!
Unfortunately, that fiery spirit has long since been pooh-poohed and eventually suffocated by the current generation of oh-so “sophisticated” Church leadership.
The same sad epitaph applies to the vast majority of modern Christian denominations!
LDS Church hierarchy not only discourages church attendees from carrying concealed guns, even among their own in good standing members who are properly licensed by the State, but the practice is specifically disallowed!
“Churches are dedicated for the worship of God, and as havens from the cares and concerns of the world. The carrying of lethal weapons, concealed or otherwise, within their walls is inappropriate and prohibited, except for LEOs” (evidently, LEOs don’t deserve insulation from “the cares and concerns of the world”)
As all Mormons (indeed all Christians) should have noticed from yesterday’s church attack, “the cares and concerns of the world” apparently didn’t get that high-minded memo!
Our Jewish brethren are wearily familiar with this sort of thing, or should be!
The lesson here is (as I’ve reiterated an nauseam): the most important “first responder” is you!
Blindly obey stupid “rules” (nonchalantly imposed by the uncaring and insulated elite) if you wish, but at your peril!
When someone makes your personal freedom an “option,” you can be assured they have made you “optional” as well!

I recall being shocked at the lack of an armed response from either a security detail or general congregation members. Mormons are generally considered synonymous with preparation and being prepared. Sad to see the hierarchy discourages congregants being armed. The hierarchy must be Mitt Romney Mormans.
There never was or has there ever been a “safe place “. Keep all your eyes peeled and come prepared. That’s as safe as it’s ever going to get…
a firearm is an inanimate object that requires human interaction to function, whether for good or evil.
if a place of worship does not allow for the legal carry of firearms, they do not care about the people inside the building.
years ago i told our pastor that i carried and had been carrying legally for years and if they didn’t want me to carry while i was there i wouldn’t be there anymore.
Article said that in Israel they have soldiers stationed at schools, and places of worship armed with Uzi submachine guns, with orders to shoot any attacker.
All churches should have armed security guards or concealed carry, as police are always not readily available.
Several have mentioned about 8 inch cement posts filled with concrete in front of entrance to stop vehicles from crashing through front doors. Many gun shops now have cement posts in front of doors.
No criticism of religion here. If you guys go to a church, synagogue, mosque, temple, etc, be safe and pick one that does not infringe on your rights.
The left loves so called safe places or sensitive locations. They also love laws that mandate the number of fire extinguishers and exit doors a building must have to help prevent deaths from a building burning. The left loves tort lawyers. So let’s combine the 3 at the federal level. A simple bill. Any place where guns are banned, either directly by law or optionally by private property, must maintain armed off duty police officers in the same ratio as the number of fire extinguishers required by fire safety laws. Carry every church service regardless of woke churchies and armed second gig LEOs on site…..several personal friends, occasionally a relative…non even wonder if I’m packin….they know me. Uniforms draw the first rounds. I prefer to be the Gomer SURPRISE…SURPRISE….SURPRISE for the bad guy. i REFUSE TO FARM OUT MY SAFETY.
