Don’t Allow Gun Control To Invade Our Cities And States

BELLEVUE, WA – -(Ammoland.com)- The 2014 mid-term Congressional elections will determine where the anti-gunners take their fight.

With the way the past five years have gone under the Obama Administration it seems farfetched for the Democrats to take over control of the House.

The most likely scenarios are for the balance of power in Congress to remain the same with the Republicans controlling the House and the Democrats Controlling the Senate. Or the Republicans could gain control in the Senate and retain control in the House. Either way would mean a tough road for new anti-gun laws to pass our U.S Congress.

If Congress cannot pass gun control at the federal level, the Obama Administration will push our Cities and States to pass new gun control. This is the same situation we saw in 2013. When Obama, Feinstein, Biden, Bloomberg, etc. could not get anti-gun laws forced thru Congress they took the fight to our States.

We must demand every one of our State Governors do not sign anymore anti-gun proposals into laws. They are the last defense for our states and must protect our Second Amendment rights along with the interest of their state’s citizens.

There was a recent victory for gun advocates in the city of Chicago. A federal court ruled that it was unconstitutional for the city of Chicago to not allow gun sales within the city limits. The constant pressure from gun advocates over the years has changed the view on guns in Chicago.

A 2010 Supreme Court decision introduced conceal carry laws into Chicago so law-abiding citizens now have the ability to protect themselves. Now there will also be gun sales in the Chicago city limits. What has happened in the violent city of Chicago since more law-abiding citizens have the ability to carry firearms? In 2013 Chicago reported the fewest number of homicides since 1965.

The other decision that came with this court ruling is to allow the city of Chicago six months to determine the regulations they will put in place to regulate the sale of guns in the city. Unfortunately, at the helm of this decision will be Rahm Emanuel. Rahm would take away every gun in the U.S if it was up to him, so it is likely the city of Chicago could face some monstrous regulations when trying to sell firearms within the city limits.

Gun advocates are called paranoid and delusional when we say if we ever gave the gun grabbers an inch they would take a mile. The gun grabbers try to charm the nation when they say, “We just want a compromise, and just a small bit of gun control will help.” Once they get that it would be on to the next compromise until they are sending out letters demanding we turn in our guns, OR ELSE!

We must continue to make a difference in each and every one of our states. When we band together we cannot be stopped. Anti-gun efforts bring in more than five times the money that we do every day but we continually knock down their anti-Second Amendment agenda.

We need to remember that when our Government was formed and our Constitution was written it was designed to give the states, not the Government, the power to decide for themselves. In a time where Government is growing exponentially it is important to remember that each state can control its own destiny and does not have to follow in the footsteps of big brother.

Since the re-election of Obama there has been constant pressure and threats toward our Second Amendment. The only way to counteract these threats is for Law Abiding gun owners to stand up against them. We must let our State Governors know we do not support any of these proposed anti-gun laws. We voted them in office, they work for us, and they need to protect the rights of our United States’ law abiding citizens.

Sincerely yours,
Alan M. Gottlieb

What we need is for gun rights advocates and shooting clubs to flood the FEDERAL courts with suits maintaining that these local laws nullify the federal right to possess firearms. One cannot exercise a right to defend his home or possess a firearm if the local laws make it so onerous to acquire one that the right cannot be effectively exercised. BRING SUIT IN FEDERAL COURTS.
