Manasquan, NJ –-(Ammoland.com)- The Motor City tops the list of America’s Most Dangerous Cities for the fourth straight year thanks to a stubborn problem mostly with gang-related violence.

Violent crimes — murder, rape, robbery and assault — fell 10% last year but are still running five times the national average.
The 10 Most Dangerous U.S. Cities

Citizens Deserve Peace in Their Home, Detroit
Detroit is a city with an over abundance of ailments. Ranked number one by Forbes as the most dangerous Cities in America in 2013 it is an urban environment in deep social decline.

Much blame can be placed on gangs, drugs and political corruption. The population of the city has fallen from a high of 1,850,000 residents in 1950 to 701,000 residents in 2013. The people of Detroit who remain are those who have little options to relocate and are forced to make their stand.

In todays headlines from the Detroit news, “Craig says it’s ‘ludicrous’ to blame him for Detroit homeowners shooting intruders” with derogatory comments from a citizens group whose mission is to prevent police brutality. This hit piece by the progressive media falsely accuses Police Chief James Craig of encouraging detroit citizens to “open fire” on suspected criminals. Intrigued by the accusation I reviewed several video interviews and nowhere did I find actual footage of Police Chief Craig suggesting citizens should “open fire”.

Its no surprise Police Chief Craig has the ire of these anti freedom groups such as Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality as Chief Craig has evolved on his position with regard to the second amendment. In previous employment Chief Craig was of the gun banning crowd supporting the so called assault weapons bans and other gun control measure which are known not to reduce crime or violence.

Like his polarized citizenry of Detroit, Chief Craig is forced to deal with the violence that confronts his citizens. The promoted fantasy by gun control advocates that disarming one self will reduce violence is not a functional strategy for survival. Chief Craig’s new reality “armed and vigilant” is a functional survival method that is being proved out in Detroit. The Detroit news seemed remiss to report that several citizens had successfully defended their life and home with a gun in 2014.

A brilliant musing of Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality, Director Ron Scott;

“I think it’s inappropriate for a law enforcement official who’s supposed to be promoting peace to suggest what people already know about their right to defend themselves,” said Scott, whose organization promotes “Peace Zones for Life” as a way to resolve conflicts non-violently.

“When you take a Wild West approach and say, ‘Shoot them,’ it’s irresponsible,” Scott said. “It’s frontier justice at its worst.”

Since when is it bad to be vigilant about your own safety and personal security. Its normal and reasonable for a person to feel safe and secure in one’s own home. When your home is invaded and the sanctity of safety has been broken a citizen is well within his natural right to defend his home and property. The insanity of suggesting that this right is some how frontier justice is factually inaccurate and dangerous.

Chief Craig is to be praised for having the courage and wisdom to adapt his position on gun control. Advising the people he serves wisely, arming yourself and taking responsibility for your security.
