Illinois --(Ammoland.com)- It’s hard to believe there is less than 60 days before the 2014 Illinois Spring Legislative Session ends.
Although there are a large variety of nasty anti-gun bills lurking out there, none have been successfully able to move. Of course it is our job to make sure they do not move.
I suspect we will see action in the last few days of April and May. We have traditionally seen bills amended and tried to be pushed through the legislature at the last minute.
We will not know the numbers of those bills until the attempt to amend those bills is made. The idea is exactly what you think it is: to slip something through so fast that we won’t be prepared. We will be ready for that to happen though; this is why we are here and why you are an Illinois State Rifle Association member.
I am sure that Spring will eventually arrive and bring warm weather. I think we will see a surge of Concealed Carry Licensing (CCL) classes. I have talked with many who would like to take their CCL class but have put it off until the weather warms up. Having taught several classes and been on the range in the numbing cold, I understand why they have put off taking the class. My last report from the Illinois State Police indicated over 62,000 applications have been received and paid for so far.
Once again, I am hearing rumblings about the United Nations (UN) mounting another attack on our gun rights. I have no details yet but I will let you know when I know. I am mindful that there are about 218 days until the November election. We need to clean out as many UN loving varmints as possible.Thank you for being a member or supporter. Richard Pearson
