Manufacturers Invited to SHOT Show Boy Scouts of America Meeting

SHOT SHOW – -(ShootingWire.com)- NSSF, NRA and the Boy Scouts of America will be holding a meeting at the SHOT Show to inform manufacturers about what’s in store during the BSA’s 100th Anniversary and how manufacturers can support the efforts being made to introduce more youths to the shooting sports.

Topics include the 2010 BSA Jamboree, council shooting sports changes, high adventure base advanced shooting sports programs and new shooting programs geared towards retaining youth in the shooting sports. This meeting will give the manufacturers a “heads-up” on what will be happening in 2010 and will provide BSA representatives with an opportunity to discuss their needs for these activities. At this time, BSA representatives would like to schedule booth appointments with the manufacturers to discuss 2010 plans in detail. There will be five phases involved in the 2010 planning:

– Equipment needed for the jamboree
– Equipment needed to implement the new shooting sports activities throughout BSA;
– Equipment needed at the council level to bring shooting sports up to the new standards;
– Special firearms needed for 100th anniversary celebrations and fund-raisers at the national and council levels;
– High Adventure Base program changes.

WHEN / WHERE

This meeting will take place on Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in room 207.
