North Carolina –-(Ammoland.com)- Fiercely anti-gun Rep. Deborah K. Ross (D, GRNC 0) has proven to be a constant obstruction to the rights of honest gun owners for the last decade.

Prior to the Assembly, she plied her anti-gun trade as a lawyer for the ACLU.

She needs to GO! – an opportunity has arisen to make progress toward that goal.

An unaffiliated, pro-gun candidate has stepped forward for the House District 34 race: Apryl Major. But Ms. Major needs our help with her petition to gain a spot on the ballot.

Here are the facts:

  • About 1100 of 2300 total petition signatures have been gathered.
  • A signature drive is scheduled for May 20th, and weekends at the State Fairgrounds if necessary.
  • Signatures must be original ink on paper.
  • Signatures must be turned in to the Board of Elections by June 15.

Residents of District 34 (Northern Raleigh and ITB area) SIGN APRYL’S PETITION!

  • Go to the website: MajorforNCHouse.com
  • On the right side of the page, click “Write-In Petition”
  • Fill in “WAKE” as the county
  • Fill in “APRYL M. MAJOR” in the “behalf of” field
  • Fill in “NC HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 34” in the “office” field
  • Print the form and sign it in ink.
  • Encourage others to sign also.
  • Mail the signed form to: Major for NC House, 6610 Brookhollow Drive, Raleigh, NC 27615

Those residing outside of District 34 can still help by volunteering to assist in gathering signatures during the drive on May 20th. Please contact the Major campaign to volunteer:

  • Through the contact page of the website: https://majorfornchouse.com/Contact.aspx
  • By phone at: (919) 619-8787

Please note: TOMORROW May 16th’s WFAE radio sponsored Forum has changed venue. The Forum has been moved from Pease Auditorium to Tate Hall (which is located in the Overcash Performing Arts Building), also on the main Central Piedmont Community College campus.

If you are not familiar with the campus venues, here is a link with directions and parking information (Tate Hall is in the same building as Halton Theatre):

Please plan to arrive at the venue by 6:30 p.m.

This change also changes plans for coordinating GRNC member attendance in two ways: (1) Signs WILL NOT BE PERMITTED inside of the building; (2) GRNC President Paul Valone will be participating as a Pro-SYG panelist!

Do your best to attend and give Paul your support!

Contact Spencer R. Rackley IV via email at: [email protected], or telephone 704-679-0779 to most effectively coordinate with other GRNC members.

At its May 19 annual meeting and dinner, GRNC will honor Rep. Hilton with the presentation of a Remington Model 1911 pistol as the organization’s first “Lifetime Freedom Achievement Award” recipient. Please join us in honoring this patriot.

The dinner will immediately follow GRNC’s annual meeting and board of directors election at the Clarion Greensboro Airport Hotel.

All members are cordially invited!

  • Date: Saturday, May 19, 2012
  • Time: Annual Meeting: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM*
  • Annual Dinner: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Place: Clarion Greensboro Airport Hotel, 415 Swing Road, Greensboro, NC 27409, conveniently located off I-40 at Exit 213.

* GRNC voting members will receive proxy cards by mail in the next few days. If you cannot attend the annual meeting, please return the proxy card using the directions on the card.

GRNC needs additional volunteers. First, a contractor is needed to add a doorway to the GRNC offices in Raleigh. Please contact [email protected] for more details on the job and providing estimates on the work.

Here is your chance to become a part of the communications team at GRNC. An additional resource is needed to assist with the writing of alerts. Please contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] with your interest.
