NEW HAVEN, Conn. -(Ammoland.com)- The most versatile version of the Mossberg MVP Series is the MVP FLEX bolt-action rifle which incorporates two highly-inventive, patented designs – a bolt-action engineered to accept and reliably feed from AR-style magazines and the unparalleled FLEX TLS (Tool-less Locking System) of modular accessories.

Now this series of 5.56mm NATO (223 Rem) and 7.62mm NATO (308 Win) rifles has been standardized with 18.5-inch medium bull, threaded barrels that are suppressor-ready and optional Vortex-scoped combos.

Six new models are available for 2017 with choice of black or tan 6-position adjustable, tactical stocks and a black synthetic version with the 4-position adjustable, hunting stock in 5.56mm NATO (223 Rem) only.

Today’s expansive series of MVP bolt-action rifles delivered an engineering breakthrough, when the first model was introduced in 2011.

With the MVP’s patented Drop-Push hinged bolt design, it allowed the use of AR15-style magazines in this innovative Mossberg bolt-action platform.

Followed by a second patented bolt design that allowed the MVP Series rifles to be offered in the widely-popular 7.62mm NATO (308 Win) chambering with the ability to accept both M1A/M14 AND AR10-style magazines.

Elevating the MVP rifle to unprecedented versatility is the addition of Mossberg’s patented FLEX TLS System. This modular accessory system allows the user to remove and remount the rifle’s stock and recoil pads without tools by simply lifting or pushing the TLS latches.

Now you can easily adapt your rifle for fit and application with the multiple FLEX accessory stocks and recoil pads available.

Standard features on the MVP FLEX rifles include Mossberg’s patented Mossberg LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) Adjustable Trigger System which is user-adjustable from 3 to 8 pounds; FLEX 6-position tactical stock with pistol grip (or optional 4-position, adjustable hunting stock); coarse, textured forend with stippling for a more positive grip; durable matte blue finish on exposed metalwork; factory-installed, receiver-mounted Picatinny rail; distinctive spiral-fluted bolt; front and rear sling swivel studs; and 10-round capacity magazine.

The 18.5-inch barrels are fluted and threaded with standard ½”-28 threads per inch (TPI) for 5.56mm NATO/223 Rem rifles and 5/8”-24TPI for the 7.62mm NATO/308 Win offerings for ease of adding a sound-dampening suppressor. Thread cap is included.

Scoped combos include the Crossfire II 2-7x32mm scope with Dead-Hold Bullet Drop Compensation (BDC) reticle and Vortex rings.

Vortex Crossfire II variable riflescopes are constructed with a hard anodized, single-piece, aircraft-grade aluminum tube and are water and fog-proof. The BDC reticle eliminates guesswork on holdover and windage corrections. Other standard features include long-eye relief; fast-focus eyepiece; fully multi-coated lenses; and resettable MOA turrets.

To start off with, I really like this weapon, “BUT” after I shot it some, I went ahead and chucked the action & barrel up in my lathe & turned it down & threaded it for a muzzle break, believe it or not, it really helped out. I changed the rear stock to one that didn’t “RATTLE” (Magpul)and then the “PISTOL GRIP” that was so hard (standard AR Grip), I replaced it with a Magpul grip. Now my next step is to eliminate the little bit of “Wobble” between the stock and the main frame(I just have thing about rattles… Read more »

Actually, if you changed and added those parts, then you DON’T like the weapon, you just LIKE the receiver.
