PEORIA, Ariz. -(Ammoland.com)- Apex Tactical Specialties announces it is now shipping the all new Apex Action Enhancement Trigger and Apex Duty/Carry Kit for the for the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 45.

The new aluminum Apex Action Enhancement Trigger for the Shield 45 (#100-160) reduces pre-travel and over-travel by approximately 20 percent and is a direct drop-in replacement for the factory polymer hinged trigger.

The trigger body features a center-mounted pivoting safety which maintains factory safety values. The MSRP is $76.95.

The Apex Duty/Carry Kit for the Shield 45 (#100-166) consists of an Apex Fully Machined Sear, Sear Spring, Trigger Return Spring and Striker Block Spring to provide a smooth uptake and reset while producing a trigger pull in the range of 5.0 to 5.5 lbs. The MSRP is $79.95.

The Apex Action Enhancement Trigger and the Apex Duty/Carry Kit can be installed independently of each other. However, for the maximum upgrade in trigger performance the two are combined in the Apex Action Enhancement Trigger & Duty/Carry Kit (#100-161).

The MSRP for the full trigger and kit is $139.95.

2putt…., That is a DAMN GOOD QUESTION that maybe S&W might want to answer for us. Ya’ think..? On a ‘similar topic’ We recently purchased a Springfield XD Mod 2 45 ACP w/a 3.3″ barrel, which is similar to the S&W Sheild 45. We (my wife and I) LOVE this little bad boy with this one silly exception: the damn trigger! Initially there is too much slack-play, and then, as Springfield describes it, “…it hits the wall…” The wall is about a 5.5 – 6. lb pull…. Why in the world would a person pay x number of dollars for a CCW and then have to go out and spend x number of dollars to make it a more user friendly/easier to use defense weapon?
