Virginia – -(Ammoland.com)- Never missing an opportunity to raise money, the Democrats are going after pro gun republican Delegate Scott Lingamfelter from Virginia, who put in one of the bills to repeal One Handgun a Month a few years ago.
Predictably, the Democrat focus is on guns, while ignoring the criminals. Even sillier, they give credence to the bragging of miscreants.
Here’s the email they are sending out:
When I woke up this morning, this was the headline greeting me from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, “17 from Richmond area indicted as NYC police bust Virginia gun ring; 217 weapons purchased in Virginia recovered.” You read that right… 217 weapons purchased in Virginia were confiscated as part of the largest gun bust in Brooklyn history.
As if that isn’t embarrassment enough, the criminals were caught on audio mocking the Commonwealth’s gun regulations. Here’s what they said,
“There’s no limit to how many guns I can go buy from the store… I can go get 20 guns from the store tomorrow. I can do that Monday through Friday… they might start looking at me, but in Virginia, our laws are so little, I can give guns away.”
Now, when you read that statement you might ask, “isn’t there something we can do?” Well, there is, and we used to try. You see, Virginia used to have a one gun a month purchasing rule — it wasn’t perfect, not by far, but it was something. But under the leadership of Republicans like Delegate Scott Lingamfelter, who called the one gun a month rule “obsolete” — Virginia Republicans repealed that law.
Virginia Republicans have and will continue to weaken Virginia’s gun laws as long as people like Scott Lingamfelter keep getting re-elected. But we can end that in 2017 — we’re going to have a great candidate against Scott Lingamfelter, and we’re going to make sure that Virginians know that criminals are mocking the Commonwealth because of lax gun regulations supported by him.
