Ft Collins, CO –-(Ammoland.com)- Still unarmed!

What will it take?

This from a friend attending a graduation at one of our big military bases last week:

When arriving on base entry gate, no one checked my ID, nor IDs of people accompanying me.

Uniformed Army gate-guards had no rifles slung, nor side-arms. The only visibly armed personnel were a gaggle of ageing, overweight private security guards. They stayed in the background.

All uniformed military personnel on base were unarmed.

We were casually “wanded” at the parade ground, by a private security guard. However, while sitting on the bleachers I observed many folks who walked in from a different direction without being stopped, nor wanded.”

Comment: Another Ft Hood incident is just a whim away!

When it happens, those up the food-chain, performing an excellent Three-Stooges imitation, will make a few pitiable speeches, scurry about establishing a few new high-profile but meaningless “security measures” (none of which will involving arming anyone), which will amount to little more that deceitful “security theater,” inconveniencing only those who don’t represent a threat.

In a few months, it will all quietly fall away, and we’ll be back where we started.

It seems we never learn, because we don’t want to learn. It apparently needs to get a lot worse before anyone wakes up!

I was at Edwards AFB last weekend and the 3 guards were armed M9s. They checked Id’s of all 4 occupants in the vehichle and was asked to roll down rear windows so they could match faces to Id’s.

In Alaska ALL GATE PERSONNEL are armed, ALL ID’s are checked and NO WEAPONS are allowed to pass the gate!

Go onto any Navy base today and all the guards are armed at the gate. I don’t know what you saw at Ft. Hood and I don’t know what the Army is doing, but at Navy and Marine bases – gate guards are armed. There are also signs at ALL military installations that tell you it is against federal regulations to bring firearms, drugs and several other things on base. There is also the chance of a random search – so if you do decide to carry, be prepared to pay the piper. There is also no reason to arm… Read more »

I was born in a naval hospital and grew up on Navy bases until the 7th grade. IN those days, the MARINE GUARDS at the gate ALL had holstered 45’s and now and then rifles too.
When I was in army basic, I got picked to “stand guard” at the gate to the airfield; Guess What; I had an M-14 rifle on my shoulder.
Thanks to the dimocraps, they have pussiedfied our military and took their firearms away.

I know nothing of Ft. Hood. But I’d be willing to bet that the Officers Club and their golf course is well protected.

@SuperG, Ft. Hood has a really groovy Px/Bx. That is what you need to know. Oh, and the O club retains genteel dining only known in a prior era.

Seems you have two choices: Boycott the event and carry or carry at the event and risk getting caught, loss of license, fined, jail time, no carry license in the future. Criminals have little to loose and under the direction of trash like obama, little to no jail time. Normally law-abiding citizens have a lot to lose if caught. I like boycotting the event.

A couple of thoughts. Concealed means concealed. Nothing should happen. If something does go wrong, yes Im sure I will be prosecuted but Im hoping for a jury not guilty verdict.
Second, the bad guys are not following the rules. So are we supposed to be sheep also and let the bad guys come in and be defenseless? I dont see the logic is asking people who train for this (us) to be defenseless.
Lastly they should allow anyone in the armed forces to carry open or concealed everywhere.

Mike Murray

Forgetting about the problem I have with “they” and “should ALLOW”, let’s modify that last sentence.
How about “anyone can carry open or concealed everywhere”.

Raymond Hudson

You hit that nail dead center!! We spend good tax payer money to train the “Armed Forces”, then make them unarmed targets at home. And history will continue to repeat itself because Common Sense is not a requirement to be in a position of authority!
