Gun Owners of America (GOA) and its Foundation (GOF) filed suit today against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms &; Explosives (ATF) for their regulations on bump stocks.

Springfield, VA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Gun Owners of America (GOA) and its Foundation (GOF) filed suit today against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) for their regulations on bump stocks.

Erich Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America said, “Our suit challenges the legality of ATF’s action and asks for an injunction to stop enforcement of the regulations.

“These dangerous regulations can go much farther than just bump stocks. The goal of the anti-gun left is, ultimately, not just banning bump stocks, but, rather, putting ‘points on the board’ toward its goal of banning civilian ownership of all firearms.”

The suit is filed strategically in the Western District of Michigan, and GOA is joined by other pro-gun groups and individuals.

“Not coincidentally, Michigan is located within the jurisdiction of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals — a circuit which is not only very pro-gun, but also has been more skeptical of illegal government regulatory actions than many other circuits in the country,” Pratt stated.

“GOA is happy to announce that the Virginia Citizens Defense League has joined the suit as a plaintiff — as well as Tim from the Military Arms Channel and GOA’s Texas state director Rachel Malone,” Pratt continued. “And I’m pleased to report that several state gun organizations, such as the Oregon Firearms Federation and BamaCarry, have contacted GOA and will be contributing financially, and by other means, to this case.

A higher priority should be ground-breaking legislation that introduces strict liability for the pharma mfg and doctors prescribing the mental pills to the mass murderers. There is a clear and direct correlation, and even a profit motive and gross negligence.

I believe the point that should be taken is, the ATF and President Trump can’t rewrite laws period. Only congress can change a law.

Well, say goodbye to the GOA. Shouldn’t take the US Treasury backed government lawyers long to drain their coffers.
One less advocate standing along in stead of together to fight gun confiscation in 2021.
Divided we’ll fall one at a time. Just playing into the lefts hands. What a bunch of idiots!!!

The ban was designed to be sent to the courts. Pres. Trump and Wayne are not stupid. Put schematics of a full auto AR and a semi auto AR side by side, you do not have to be an engineer or firearms expert to see that parts are missing from the semi auto rifle and it can not fire full auto no matter what. Next look at the Abstract for US Patent # 8127658B1 Method of shooting a semi-automatic firearm ( YES Semi Automatic Firearm) Abstract A method for rapidly firing a semi-automatic firing unit (22) having a trigger (24),… Read more »

GOA WILL LOSE! I like the GOA but this ACCESSORY DEVICE like higher cap magazines, folding stocks, etc. in some states is probably (for sure) not protected by the Second Amendment. Once it goes into serious enforcement, it will be easy to track the sales/owners unless the makers all magically somehow lose all sales and shipping info.–get ready for jail time. And, during the appeal process will a TRO be quickly issued against the ATF regarding any legal action on owners until the case is adjudicated? If not, then the owners have got themselves into a hell of a mess… Read more »
