U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action and the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs, which is NRA’s affiliate in New Jersey, filed a lawsuit today against the state of New Jersey for a restrictive law that essentially denies law-abiding gun owners the right to a concealed carry permit.

“It’s outrageous that law-abiding people are being denied their right to self-defense by arbitrary means,” said Amy Hunter, spokeswoman for the NRA. “Statistics show that self-defense situations come up quickly and without warning. Time and time again, we hear stories about good people who have saved lives because they were carrying a firearm. The state of New Jersey has no reason to deny law-abiding citizens their constitutional rights.”

The may-issue law in New Jersey requires law-abiding gun owners to show they have a justifiable need for a concealed carry permit beyond the right to self-defense. They must show that they have been threatened in a specific way, which has resulted in a few New Jerseyans being issued permits.

One of the plaintiffs, in this case, is a firearms instructor with a current federal and New Jersey firearms retail license. When he applied for a concealed carry license, he was told to not bother because it would not be granted.

The case is Mazahreh v. Grewal. It was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Having primarily supported the NRA for decades, it is reassuring to see the NRA at last taking action against unconstitutional laws. I know they have “done stuff” in the past, but it will be nice if they can get away from suits about suits, and go full bore against infringements on people’s constitutional rights, which I sort of think was their purported mission. May my criticisms one day be replaced with praise. May the rescue station stop being merely a good ol’ boys’ club.

willyd

Yes but how many others have been moving against N J and now finally the N R A has crawled out to say HERE WE ARE!!!!!! This seems to be another chance for them to step out and try to clam all of the marbles again after everybody was pitched in the battle before them! Their wasteful spending instead of defending the second amendment and trying to be pasha about who they want to back in elections is a down fall!!!!!

Watch um

Just how much have you donated to the cause, I am waiting on your reply, or are you one of those who love to be a naysayers in the world. I will check back to see your reply. BTW you can donate through PayPal.

If Wayne, Marion, and others had not advocated for more gun control and had not inappropriately spent what members had already donated, they would be receiving more donations today.

They have to be concerned about more members finding out about what has been going on.
