Senate Bill 516 grants universal recognition to concealed carry permits held by non-Wisconsin residents, issued by any other state. It repeals the requirement that such recognition be only for permits from states on an arbitrary list maintained by the Wisconsin Department of Justice. This reform recognizes that visitors traveling to Wisconsin should not be left defenseless simply by crossing a state line.

“Wisconsin Advances Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill”
We already recognize many states, the problem is that states won’t recognize WI permit holders, MN is one, and that’s really bad because it’s a border state……
bill needs to say any stat that accepts ours we will accept theirs
My CCL instructor speculated that is was because Wisconsin didn’t have a range training component of the licensing mechanism.
That’s exactly correct, we do have rather “relaxed” quals for getting out CCL…
My State Florida will accept any other States that accept our States resident permit. WI for some reason didn’t like our training.
This is the way reciprocity laws should be written, if we need reciprocity laws at all.
What states did/do they currently recognize?
Wl, formerIy the Cheese State, now the moosIime state.
BFD. It’s a nice thought but with Evers as governor it will be vetoed/dead in the water – if it ever gets that far. I’m cynical that its nothing but a “loyal opposition” ploy for re-election purposes.
