Guns Save More Lives Than They Take; Prevent More Injuries Than They Inflict ~ VIDEO

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- I’m Dan Wos and welcome to another Ammoland News Second Amendment Update.

Guns are used 2.5 million times a year in self-defense. Law-abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves against criminals as many as 2.5 million times every year — or about 6,850 times a day. [1] This means that each year, firearms are used more than 80 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives. [2]

Of the 2.5 million times citizens use their guns to defend themselves every year, the overwhelming majority merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers. Less than 8% of the time, a citizen will kill or wound his/her attacker.[3]

As many as 200,000 women use a gun every year to defend themselves against sexual abuse.[4]

Even anti-gun Clinton researchers concede that guns are used 1.5 million times annually for self-defense. According to the Clinton Justice Department, there are as many as 1.5 million cases of self-defense every year. The National Institute of Justice published this figure in 1997 as part of “Guns in America” — a study which was authored by noted anti-gun criminologists Philip Cook and Jens Ludwig.[5]

Armed citizens kill more crooks than do the police. Citizens shoot and kill at least twice as many criminals as police do every year (1,527 to 606).[6] And readers of Newsweek learned that “only 2 percent of civilian shootings involved an innocent person mistakenly identified as a criminal. The ‘error rate’ for the police, however, was 11 percent, more than five times as high.”[7]

Handguns are the weapon of choice for self-defense. Citizens use handguns to protect themselves over 1.9 million times a year. [8] Many of these self-defense handguns could be labeled as “Saturday Night Specials.”

For me personally, and several other people I have known, and likely thousands of others, the mere presence of a firearm has “defused” a potentially deadly situation. I have never needed to shoot anyone (yet) and I hope I never do, but 3 times in my life, having a handgun and letting someone see that I was armed was enough to cause an aggressive individual to stop their potentially dangerous behavior and turn and walk away.

If this info made the main stream news there would be no debate whatsoever on second amendment RIGHTS. That is exactly why “they” won’t allow it to be. The progressive, demoncrapic left aka the communist party (and rinos) wants every American citizen disarmed/unarmed so they can further enslave us. Communism cannot take over when there are armed people who value their freedom and rights. When the truth about communism becomes obvious the people will wage war on it to get their lives and country back. The demoncraps MUST disarm the citizenry lest we rise up against their evil ideals. The intimidation value of a firearm in thwarting a perp’s intention on a victim is invaluable, if applied correctly. By it’s very nature, it’s measure is subject mostly to guesswork, since most encounters are not reported to authorities. Anti-gunners will always try to downplay it presence.

You and the others are not getting it, he is using the anti-gun people own data against them.
Data that the anti-gun people thought would help them but it turns out helps us.
You can’t buy that.

If your a normal lawbiding citizens brandishing a firearm you will get in serious trouble , but if you are a member of the government you are free to brandish at will . Our county attorney here brandished a rifle and fired a shot in the air during a disagreement and only got charged with disorderly conduct. Privileged people in the government have different rules than us peons !

Nothing more than propaganda What a shame

The problem with this article and why the data and information contained within will be immediately dismissed as hyperbole, is because the facts and figures the author chooses to include have drastic variances. When there is such a gravitation of “standard deviation”, any self-respecting statistician would throw everything out and start again. Especially, when the references for those figures are absent. For example: > Guns are used 2.5 million times a year in self-defense. > According to the Clinton Justice Department, there are as many as 1.5 million cases of self-defense every year. > Citizens use handguns to protect themselves… Read more »
