The PDX-SD encapsulates power, convenience, and silence in a remarkably compact package. Born out of significant engineering achievements and meticulous attention to detail, this short 5.5-inch barreled PDW comes chambered in 5.56mm, and now .300BLK, and 7.62x39mm. Specially designed for compactness without sacrificing performance, the PDX-SD sets a new benchmark in the firearm industry. The built-in “soup can” silencer, with its impressive outer diameter of 2.25 inches, significantly reduces noise and gas emissions, making this weapon stealthier and more comfortable to operate.
“The PDX-SD is a testament to Maxim Defense’s knack for innovation and relentless pursuit of perfection,” said David Farrell, Vice President of Sales, Maxim Defense. “The addition of these two popular chambers makes the PDX-SD an exceptional personal defense weapon.”
The PDX-SD is not just a combination of a rifle and a suppressor. Instead, Maxim Defense conceived it as an integrated system where each component works harmoniously. This symbiotic relationship between the rifle and the suppressor allows for efficient maintenance, easy upgrades, and replacements. On the range, the PDX-SD showcases its superiority. It shoots like a high-end competition gun and remains impressively quiet and balanced, thanks to the finely-tuned gas system. With an overall weight of 7.6 pounds, it is designed to provide a comfortable shooting experience, making it an exceptional tool for defense and tactical operations. If you are looking for a compact yet powerful firearm that never compromises on stealth and performance, the PDX-SD is an excellent choice.

About Maxim Defense
Maxim Defense was born with the mission of being a 21st century defense development company striving to give our military and law enforcement the next generation of tools and equipment. Our mission is focused on the Special Operation Forces community and developing products that are purpose designed and duty built to meet or exceed demanding challenges they face in this dangerous world. Our development efforts are focused on servicing this community but we are also committed to our commercial clients and customers, for without their support we could not achieve our mission of helping those that are down range and in harm’s way.
H, no. Overpriced and wayyyy too short a barrel. You won’t burn half the powder in the 5.56 rounds, and even the 300 BLK should be at least 7 inches if you want accuracy beyond CQB indoors. I’d put my home built custom 300 BLK against theirs and win hands down, with an extra $2000 in my wallet.
Cool, but $3600?
My “grail gun” for home defense would be an HKMP5SD – the few times a pre-’86 transferable one comes up for sale, it costs as much as a new car. A NICE new car. This one LOOKS like a reasonable, semi-auto substitute, but a) I’m not familiar enough with MAXIM to have confidence in them – I personally regard them as an “off brand.” b) I don’t know if their 5.5″ barrel has a fast enough twist to stabilize heavy (200+ grain) 300 BLK subsonic ammo; c) I don’t know how quiet it is; and d) $3695? I’m pretty sure… Read more »
