The armed robbery of a Democrat delegate in Chicago during the Democratic National Convention offers a lesson on the failure of gun control to a party that preaches it, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said in response.
Published reports say the 25-year-old delegate from Texas was robbed at gunpoint by a two-man stickup crew.
They took the man’s wallet and room keys, and then crossed the street to rob someone else. They were described as two black males dressed in black. The robbery occurred at about 2 a.m. Wednesday.
“This is an object lesson for the Democrats,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “Their efforts to disarm law-abiding citizens while promoting a soft-on-crime agenda have been a massive failure, and this incident proves it. They want to make it difficult for honest citizens to own and carry guns, while they have been unwilling and unable to keep guns out of criminal hands, especially in crime centers such as Chicago, which—no surprise here—has been run by Democrats for decades.
“Worse still,” he continued, “it was reported that the U.S. Secret Service had even warned delegates to remove their badges as they left the United Center Wednesday because of multiple robbery attempts since the convention began Monday. Maybe if Illinois Democrats had adopted legislation recognizing all non-resident carry permits, allowing visitors to Chicago and other Illinois cities to carry guns, this sort of brazen crime wouldn’t be happening.
“Likewise,” Gottlieb added, “Democrat policies have allowed repeat offenders to escape jail time and continue robbing people. We’re glad nobody was hurt, but this should send a signal to Democrats about their misguided gun control and soft-on-crime efforts. The experiment has failed and it is time to try something different.”
“But, since we’re talking about the party of gun prohibition, Democrats appear to be stuck on stupid, which is why bad guys roam the streets and good guys literally pay the price.”

To my knowledge, Chicago has the toughest (worst) anti gun laws in the country. Anti gun laws don’t work, but they do tend to disarm the innocent American citizenry. The demoncraps (communists), nearly to a person, want to disarm the free American citizen and they have said it and done it for decades. Honouring an out of state Mother May I Card would not have changed this situation. Because NO ONE except the “annointed and appointed” will be allowed to be armed inside the convention itself. So glad to see the disruption and the splitting of the democrap party during what is supposed to be a unifying affair. If democraps are that messed up and now RFK is talking of dropping out and supporting President Trump, that will help tear up their leftist/socialist/marxist party even more. As I see it, the wrong lesson will be learned. These people are in an echo chamber so all they will hear is that one of the own was attacked – and if only they’d banned more guns it could have been prevented.
There’s no reasoning with people who those who refuse to see reason. Their belief that disarming good-guys is key to stopping bad-guys is proof enough.
