California Democrat & Pardon-Holder Adam Schiff Revives Push for Nationwide ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban

U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) introduced legislation last week aiming to impose a sweeping national ban on what he labels “assault weapons,” reviving a controversial proposal once championed by the late Senator Dianne Feinstein. Schiff, joined by Senators Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), and Representative Lucy McBath (D-Ga.) seek to prohibit the sale, manufacture, transfer, and importation of many popular semi-automatic firearms and magazines holding more than ten rounds.

“Assault weapons are designed for one thing: to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible,” Schiff claimed, echoing familiar rhetoric from proponents of gun control. The bill is presented as a revival of Feinstein’s original 1994 legislation, which lapsed in 2004 after Congress declined to renew it.

Senator Adam Schiff, a recipient of a preemptive pardon from President Joe Biden in January 2025, for as yet unidentified crimes, alongside other public figures such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, and former Representative Liz Cheney.

President Biden emphasized that these pardons did not imply any wrongdoing or guilt on the part of the recipients …right.

Schiff argues the previous ban reduced mass shootings and fatalities, asserting gun massacres fell by 37% during the ban’s decade-long existence. “The Assault Weapons Ban saved lives. There is no escaping that fact,” Schiff stated. However, gun rights advocates and data analysts dispute this narrative, highlighting a 2004 Department of Justice study that found the ban had little to no measurable effect on gun crime rates.

The National Rifle Association (NRA) swiftly responded, labeling Schiff “Lyin’ Adam Schiff” and strongly denying his claim that NRA members broadly support such restrictions. “We know gun control only emboldens criminals and leaves peaceable Americans at risk,” the NRA countered.

Critics argue Schiff’s proposal broadly defines “assault weapons” in a way that encompasses common firearms legally owned by millions of Americans for self-defense and sporting purposes. UCLA law professor Adam Winkler previously noted, “rifles, assault or otherwise, are rarely used in gun crime,” pointing out that rifles constitute only a small fraction of firearm-related homicides compared to handguns or even non-firearm-related violence.

Gun rights organizations emphasize that such legislation primarily targets law-abiding citizens, rather than addressing underlying issues of crime and mental health. “This bill is a clear attempt at disarming everyday Americans, leaving them defenseless while doing little to nothing to stop actual crime,” stated a representative from a leading pro-gun advocacy group.

Despite Schiff and his colleagues touting widespread public support and endorsements from organizations like Everytown and March for Our Lives, the renewed push for an “assault weapons” ban faces an uphill battle in a deeply divided Congress, where strong Second Amendment advocacy continues to resonate among many voters.

As debates heat up, pro-gun advocates remain steadfast, highlighting constitutional protections and the practical ineffectiveness of previous bans. Schiff’s renewed effort signals an ongoing clash in the legislative arena, pitting constitutional rights against repeated attempts at restrictive gun control measures.

I just want to know why this POS is still working in DC. I have never seen a more punchable face in my LIFE!!! Where is the DOJ & their investigation into his actions during the last Trump administration? All the lies, the endless witch hunt, the countless hours of BS we had to listen to. Every time this worthless bag of flesh opens his mouth lies come out.

Yikes – yet another nebulous term cropped up in his latest diatribe: “gun crime” – how can an inanimate object commit any action without the intervention of a person? Yes, I know that false term has been around and over used (just like “assault weapon”) but it still serves their purpose of confusing people.

On a credibility scale of zero to one hundred, Schiff manages to score a negative ninety.

The left (and Schiff and Murphy are on the left) keep saying Trump is a fascist, America is in a constitutional crisis, we’re under tyranny, people’s rights are threatened.   The second amendment – people (the “unorganized militia”) owning (“keeping”) arms – exists only to ensure the people have the means (tools) to resist an oppressive, tyrannical government which oppresses people’s rights.   So – why is it not the position of the left to support the second amendment? Why are Schiff and Murphy (and Pelosi and Booker and Schumer ….) continually supporting laws which enable and embolden tyranny? They’re clearing a… Read more »

Classical Progressives were very comfortable with the original fascists. Until that ideology exploded in to WW II that is. Then they projected fascism as somehow a morphing of the nebulous and undefined term ‘Christian Nationalism.’ Of course, there is nothing Christian about fascism but deflect they must. So folks, this is what it looks like when New Left, Frankfurt School progressives cross the line and morph in to neofascists. Disarming the population is the first step for any leftist totalitarian movement to take power and fascism is a creature of the left and not of the right. So lil adam… Read more »

Lying Schithead Schiff and his like can shove their gun bans where the sun don’t shine… we won’t ever pass that unconstitutional garbage, nor would citizens obey it, as bans only disarm law abiding citizens. Schifty wants to aid his deviant voter base criminals by rendering their victims defenseless. Gun control never reduces crime, as it only affects those who wouldn’t harm anyone to begin with, while thugs will by definition continue to break all laws.

Adam schiff does not belong in politics. He belongs in a prison cell! Since Adam Schiffty is a Democrat, doea adam identify as a male? Does adam identify as a female? Does adam identify as another gender? Or does adam identify as another species? You can tell that these far leftist democrats never were in service. The democrats make wild claims that semi auto rifles are made for the battlefield to kill thousands. Huh? This sounds like nonsense put out by gun banning groups. In war, the idea is not to kill your opponent, but to wound them, so it… Read more »

If being seriously stupid was an actual crime, even Biden’s pardon couldn’t save Schiff-for-brains.
