ATF Halts Suppressor Approvals, Gun Owners Left in Limbo

The American Suppressor Association (ASA) issued a statement in response to the federal government shutdown, which has halted the processing of eForm 4 suppressor applications and left law-abiding gun owners across the country facing potential delays.

“The government shutdown is yet another reminder of why the National Firearms Act regulatory regime must be fully abolished,” said ASA Vice President Owen Miller.

“With eForm approvals measured in just days, any stoppage that could increase transfer times is concerning. It’s unacceptable that law-abiding citizens are left in limbo while Congress fights over federal funding. Our Second Amendment rights should not be held hostage to bureaucratic delays, and it’s clearer now more than ever why the unconstitutional NFA registration scheme must be ended.”

About American Suppressor Association (ASA)

Founded in 2011, the American Suppressor Association has been instrumental in promoting the rights of suppressor owners nationwide, advocating for legal reform, and educating the public about the benefits of suppressors. ASA’s successful campaigns have resulted in the legalization of suppressors in three states, the use of suppressors while hunting in 19 states, the defeat of numerous attempts to impose state level bans, and the dramatic improvements to NFA transfer times. when i was in the navy there were many years at the beginning of the fiscal year that we were not paid for several pay periods, but we still had to report for duty and perform our jobs.
these overpaid government agents will get their pay during this shutdown so why are they not at their jobs performing their duties. it is like a free paid vacation for them, on my dime.

And this is yet another very good reason why the ATF should cease to exist.
