BELLEVUE, WA –-(Ammoland.com)- We have made it past the half-way point of SAF’s fortieth year protecting gun rights. It has been a tremendous year thus far but much has to be done to make the year a success.

So far in 2014, SAF has earned several legal victories yet continues to undertake new challenges. SAF’s biggest event of the year is just around the corner.

This year’s Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC) will take place in Chicago on September 26-28.

All of you gun loving Patriots are the reason we are able to make such a difference. We are asking for your help and asking that you continue to support our goal of protecting everyone’s Second Amendment Rights.

I would like to invite you to our 29th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference. This is your once-a-year chance to network, get an insider’s look and plan pro-gun rights strategies for the coming year. Past GRPCs have outlined victory plans and made public the latest firearms trends. They allow you a first-hand chance to hear movement leaders-and make your voice heard

The full roster of GRPC 2014 speakers has not yet been set.

Past speakers include: Alan M. Gottlieb, Joseph P. Tartaro, Eugene Volokh, Wayne LaPierre, Michael Reagan, Larry Elder, Bob Barr, John Lott, Sandy Froman, Massad Ayoob, Tom Gresham, Alan Gura, G. Gordon Liddy, Larry Pratt, Emily Miller and many others.

Our latest legal action came when a court requested more information for one of our longest running cases, Pena Vs. Lindley. A supplemental brief filed by attorney Alan Gura that included an additional declaration by Lawrence G. Keane, secretary and general counsel to the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI).

It is important for the court to understand that the microstamping requirements now included in California’s law simply cannot be met. We are delighted and grateful that a reliable and knowledgeable representative for SAAMI and NSSF has weighed in.

Keane’s detailed brief reinforces earlier documents submitted by Glock, Smith & Wesson and Sturm, Ruger.

Our challenge to California’s statute now includes important support information from recognized experts. Clearly, our arguments are backed up by facts and technical information that shows the state’s requirements are not simply unreasonable, but cannot possibly be met any time in the foreseeable future. In short, California has passed a law for which compliance is impossible.

The case was originally filed in 2009 as a challenge to California’s regulation that arbitrarily bans handguns based on a roster of “acceptable” handgun models approved by the state. The revised case addresses microstamping, which has made it even harder to legally purchase a handgun in the Golden State.

It is important for us to let our members know what events we are involved in, what’s the latest legal action we have taken to show where your generous donations do end up. We are so grateful for your commitment to protecting our Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Without you all our doors would be closed and who knows what rights we would have left.

We must work together to ensure this new show does not do anything to tarnish our rights. When we come together we can accomplish anything.

Together, we can preserve the Constitutional rights our Founding Fathers intended our people to have forever.

Thank you. I know I can count on you.

Sincerely yours,

Alan M. Gottlieb

my ex wife got a restraining order against me. they took my 2nd amendment rights for the last 3 plus years. I am wondering if you can help me get those rights back. she was caught lying to the police when she said I beat her with a hammer. I was 600 miles away when she made that accusation.
