Las Vegas, NV – -(Ammoland.com)- The FBI has recovered a pistol that may have been privately owned and used by one of the Marines killed Thursday during the shooting at the Navy Operational Support Center according to law enforcement officials, The Washington Post reported Monday.

‘Investigators are trying to determine, based on forensics, whether the pistol, a 9mm Glock, was used in an exchange with the shooter, Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, and possibly wounded him, officials said.”

That’s been corroborated and elaborated on by a Tuesday Navy Times report claiming “Sources: Navy officer, Marine fought to take out Chattanooga gunman.

“It’s also unclear why they were armed, as it is against Defense Department policy for anyone other than military police or law enforcement to carry weapons on federal property,” that report points out.

At least two of those in the Naval service believed as I do that it’s better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. And it’s MUCH better to be a participant rather than simply a victim.

I work off campus for a state university, my dept. pays the rent and we do not take any state or school funds, but I can not have any firearms inside the building. Recent NC law now allows me to keep them stored in my vehicle.

If the DOD is paying the rent on the office space, then the Marine may have broken the law.

Yep, that’s the way they look at it. To and including off base housing paid in whole or in part by the Military. A National disgrace almost as bad as the current occupant of “The Peoples House” in D.C.

So what are they going to do to you if someone comes in shooting and you shoot back. Fire you! I would rather be alive and unemployed than dead! If the bad guy comes in, what are you going to say “please wait for me to go to my car.” If you shoot back, and are charged with anything, any juror with a brain will find you “NOT GUILTY”. Jury nullification is our only hope to defeat these stupid, unconstitutional laws being passed.

So what if he broke the law. If you are in your off campus office and you have your firearm, and someone comes in shooting, do you really care that you are breaking the law? Would you rather be a DEAD law abiding citizen? Let them press charges and just make sure that when I have my trial by jury, they are a fully informed jury and are fully knowledgeable about the concept of jury nullification. Too many stupid people think because a stupid law is passed that it is written in stone. They have failed to learn those safeguards… Read more »

Who ever the Marine was that carried the pistol did so because he knew they were under threat from all the camel jockeys that have infiltrated (been invited by democrats) our country. Plus he knew the communist muslim in the white house is trying to bring in more to make sure the USA is destroyed by the DEMOCRATS and other ANTI AMERICANS. As for the Marine and Sailor who died trying to stop the sand scum I say OohRah and Semper Fi. May God Bless those who gave their lives for our country and of course God Bless their families.

Many of the antigunners will argue (incorrectly) that the 2A only applies in connection with participation in a “well regulated militia.” We can see how disingenuous that they really are because they do not even allow military personel “to keep and bear arms” What happened in this and several other instances is proof that the anti gunners are looking to kill the 2A by a “death of 1000 cuts.” The only “common sense” gun control they believe in is total gun control. Bravo for the brave young man who defied policy and armed himself. The rest of the marines should… Read more »

As most recruiting stations are leased spaces in strip malls, business parks, etc. would recruiters and those working at recruiting stations still be in violation of the DD policy for non law enforcement or military police to be armed if they are not in violation of state regulations. After all technically they are not on “federal property”. The property the recruiting stations are on are owned by other entities and leased to the Department of Defense. That would be like saying recruiters or any service members receiving a housing allowance for off post housing are not allowed to have legally… Read more »

Wouldn’t it be appropriate that an autopsy find a 9mm slug or two in that jihadi’s brain!
