The right size:  A 3 ½-inch blade and an overall open length of 8 ¼-inches, the Aegis offers plenty of heavy-duty handle leverage surface.

Blade:  You get choices too.  The locking blade Aegis is available in either an aggressively up-swept slice and dice design or a robust tanto (tanto blade is partially serrated).  Two-blade finishes are available: Satin polish or black TiNi (Titanium Nitride a super hard surface finish).

SOG S.A.T. Speed:
One hand operation is easy, just thumb the blade open about 10-15 degrees and SOG’s Assisted Technologies (S.A.T.) takes over and fully opens the blade in the blink of the eye.  To SOG, safety matters, there is even a built-in blade locking safety that locks the blade closed, a great feature around small children and for general safety.

Grip it!  Combine ultra-tough Zytel handle with SOG’s grabby DigiGrip texture fitted with tacky Kraton rubber inserts, a thick (top to bottom) palm filling handle with aggressively serrated large cut out for two fingers and you get tremendous cutting power grip leverage.  Add top side thumb and rear handle serrations and you get a no-slip utility grip.

Packing the Aegis is easy and its clip is easily reversible for either right or left hand pocket carry.
