WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. –-(AmmoLand.com)- Team EOTAC had a big weekend at the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) Carolina Cup with team member Mark Redl capturing the Custom Defensive Pistol title and over 30 shooters participating in free EOTAC shooting clinic.

Redl, ranked a Master in IDPA, took top honors in the highly competitive CDP division with a final time of 211.36, just over 9 seconds faster than second place finisher Daren Kirts.

Redl’s teammate and Team EOTAC captain Tom Yost, also ranked a Master, placed fifth in the Stock Service Pistol division with a time of 209.82.

“Overall we had a strong match with Mark leading the way with his CDP win against a very strong field of challengers,” said Yost. “While I’m disappointed in finishing fifth in SSP, I’m happy to have placed so high with over 100 shooters gunning for the SSP title.”

Rounding out EOTAC’s weekend in Oxford, N.C., home to the popular Carolina Cup, was the free shooting sports clinic taught by Team EOTAC members Dave Harrington, Mark Redl and Tom Yost. The purpose of the clinic was to help shooters expand their shooting skills through one-on-one coaching as competitors reshoot stages from the match.

“It’s always exciting to watch shooters progress, especially when it’s right in front of your eyes,” explained Yost. “As a team, we enjoy working with competitors and passing on some of the tips and tricks we’ve found to help in a match, and based on the response we got this weekend, those in the clinic enjoyed it too.”

“We’re very pleased with the turnout for our second shooting sports clinic,” said EOTAC president Fernando Coelho who sees the clinics as a way to help expand participation in the shooting sports.

“The more our Team EOTAC members work with shooters the more we hope they will continue, and grow, their own participation in the shooting sports. With two successful clinics behind us, we have plans to add more to the schedule and will announce those dates in the coming weeks.”
