SALT LAKE CITY, UT -(Ammoland.com)- At the recently held Western Hunting and Conservation Expo (WHCE), hosted by the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) and Sportsmen for Fish & Wildlife, $12,500 was raised to directly benefit the USA Shooting Team Training Program.

Following the WHCE keynote address by the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre, Executive Director of the USA Shooting Team Foundation Buddy DuVall took the stage with several members of the USA Shooting Team to auction off a very special pistol and knife set.

The fully engraved Kimber .45 caliber handgun featuring highly polished stainless steel and antique ivory bone grips, accompanied by an antique ivory bone Catskill Hunter knife made by Canal Street Cutlery, sold for $12,500. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit the USA Shooting Team Training Program.

This was the final set of just three made. Baron Technology teamed up with Kimber manufacturing, Canal Street Cutlery, Nutmeg Sports and Hampels Woodland Products to create this custom Kimber .45 caliber STS Target II pistol and knife set for USA Shooting to auction at selected conventions.

“The Kimber and Canal Street Cutlery set that we’ve had the fortune to auction off throughout this year’s industry show season is a result of the vision and support USA Shooting receives from our sponsors and partners,” said Buddy DuVall, Executive Director of the USA Shooting Team Foundation. “These unique auction items go a long in way in supporting the programs and training necessary to build a stronger USA Shooting Team.”

MDF’s President and CEO added, “We were honored that the WHCE was chosen to be one of the venues offering this beautiful set at auction. The Mule Deer Foundation is proud to be associated with these Olympic athletes. They have consistently supported us, and we look forward to working with them for years to come.”
