Trenton, NJ – -(Ammoland.com)- Outraged by the promulgation of State Police regulations making a tiny incremental improvement in right to carry recommended by Governor Christie, Senate Democrats led by Senator Loretta Weinberg (D-37) are fast-tracking SCR101, a legal trick that could kill the new regulations before they are even formally adopted.

Only in the Garden State do lawmakers openly block self-defense by those facing serious threats and tout it as a good thing.

And only in the New Jersey does the state constitution contain an obscure provision allowing the legislature to unilaterally kill regulations issued by an entirely separate branch of government in a simple “resolution” that does not require the Governor’s signature to be effective.

Police owe no duty to protect individual citizens – a troubling doctrine repeatedly affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. That means you’re on your own in an emergency, yet those who wish to take responsibility for their own safety are effectively blocked from doing so by New Jersey’s absurdly (and unconstitutionally) restrictive carry law.

The pending state police regulations recommended by Governor Christie represent a small incremental improvement, allowing those facing “serious threats” to qualify.

Anti-gun legislators, who themselves enjoy the armed protection of State House security details, hypocritically are working to block everyone else’s self-defense rights. SCR101 would be more aptly named the Citizen’s Victimization Act.

SCR101 is scheduled for consideration in the full Senate on Monday, May 9 2016, passing along party line votes in the Senate Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee tomorrow (Thursday, May 5).

Please immediately tell all State Senators to vote NO on SCR101. Tell them to support the right of those facing serious threats to protect themselves where government has abandoned its obligation to do so.

I THINK YOU ARE TO OLD FOR A CURRENT GUN POLICY ISSUE..YOU ARE NOT USING YOUR BRAIN BECAUSE WE THE PEOPLE OF NEW JERSEY WANT TO DEFENSE OURSELVES,THE POLICE CAN NOT BE ALL OVER.MORE GUNS LESS CRIME,QUOTED BY FBI REPORTS,YOU MUST GET RID OF NEW JERSEY ANTIQUATED GUN LAWS.

@Eric_CA,I think Trump, and his Supreme Court nominees will be the ‘someone’ that believes in the constitution at the federal level when he becomes president. Law-abiding Americans just ain’t gonna take anymore of this bullsh*it ! Take care.

Eric_CA

Tex, hope our right. Time will tell.

Living in California, I have empathy for NJ residents. I thought we had it bad, but NJ is really a S–thole. More importantly, I believe that nothing will change as longs as we have “a government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.” People in the inner cities aren’t going to vote away their entitlements. A good start is withholding Federal funds from sanctuary cities and cities they pass unconstitutional laws. Do away with immunity to legislatures that pass unconstitutional laws. This can only happen at the Federal level. Preferably by someone that… Read more »

Damn it makes me sick to see law-abiding fellow Americans treated like this. It really does piss me off and there is only so much people will take.

Firearms laws and statutes will soon become a states right issue. It’s critical to live in a free state when this happens although to a certain degree it already has. I know that it is a total pain in the ass to uproot your families and move to a gun friendly state because of the tyranny going on in states like New Jersey but I see no other viable options. The socialists are in a panic mode to get as much unconstitutional,socialist,tyrannical,anti-2A legislation passed as possible as soon as possible. They are acting like they have already lost the White House… Read more »

The TRUTH about the “supremacy clause” – our Constitution does not delegate to the national government authority to restrict our arms, ammunition, regulate firearms dealers, do background checks, etc. The national government may not lawfully circumvent this restriction by means of a treaty wherein the signatory governments agree to disarm their Citizens or Subjects.

WHY do ALL of the liberal democrat socialist women LOOK like someone ran a hose up a lower opening and sucked out ALL their brains and most of their fluids too? Something about Progressive liberalism must be BAD for your health and face.

NJ will never be free of leaches like her, they are voted into office by the inner city blacks and union thugs that really run this state. Along with that we have make believe republicans that have no balls. Once in a while a make believe Republican gets elected Governor and turns out to be like Whitless and Christie. So we are stuck, and to make it even more humiliating McGreasey passed a law that fines us if we leave this sh*t hole.

If citizens would sue their elected representatives/authorities every time they’re damaged/harmed by UNCONSTITUTIONAL, and therefore, UNLAWFUL “laws” (known as a “nullity” in Constitutional Law), for a KNOWING, OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, VIOLATION OF CIVIL RIGHTS UNDER COLOR OF LAW (Re. 42 USC Sections 1983, 1985, 1986) we might be able to return this country to it’s LIMITED GOVERNMENT foundation within the confines of the Constitution as intended by the founders. Use the 14th Amendment to “pierce” the “qualified immunity” of any “sworn officers” (Include judges and governors and legislative representatives, etc.). NO JUDGES ARE NOT IMMUNE WHEN THEY KNOWINGLY, OR… Read more »

That sounds wonderful but in order to make them pay, pay, pay, one would themselves have to pay, pay, pay. It becomes financially impossible for the average joe to do.

Does New Jersey have recall??

Alan

Have the above ever been brought into play to punish “government agents” at ANY level??

Tionico

read those laws again in light of Mikey BloomingIdiotBurg’s wretched campaign to go about buying his special interest “legislation” in various states about the country.

Time to water the tree of Liberty!!!

If Governor Christie was serious about protecting the rights of the electorate, he would immediately issue a counter-decree by executive order that all weapons and munitions be defunded for LEO INCLUDING Capitol police, Secret Service, FBI, State Police, etc., especially and including elected officials’ security details effective immediately. Senator Weinberg should be able to fend for herself just as well as any private citizen under the same restrictions and laws affecting the men and women of New Jersey. If we can’t protect ourselves, Senator, neither should you allow others to protect you. Fend yourself for a change!

Why just in Jersey. We should do that for all states…. See how protected they feel then. I am glad to be able to say I am from Jersey and will never step a foot in that state ever again…. After 20 years in the Navy I would not return to Jersey due to the laws and cost of living. I feel any one that served in the military has the right to carry just like they did while serving. All branches of the Military should carry concealed. Does any think that once you leave the military that the job… Read more »

All I can say is Trump!!! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Trump is a knight in shining armor and is coming to our rescue from the barbarian Vikings who want to pillage and destroy America for their globalist one world government. First thing they need to do is take our guns away. Then pile us all into stacked cities so they can monitor everything we do and kill whom ever they please when ever they want. Its called Agenda 21 or otherwise known as Sustainable Living, oh that sounds such much nicer than Agenda 21, doesn’t it?! Its a… Read more »

Impeach her

I have traveled to NJ twice, it is a very lousy place to visit, never again!!!!!

Michael Twidle

You ain’t seen nothing yet, when they elect a Democrat governor we will be turning in our guns.

studi30

It takes 3 months to get a permit to purchase a handgun in NJ now. Christie keeps vetoing the Dimocrap anti gun bills. You can’t have knives, pepper spray, batons, stun guns or firearms to defend yourself in NJ. The ghetto cities in NJ have some of the highest illegal gun murder rates in the US. NJ ranks 6th in the number of illegals in the state. With a population of 8 million citizens we have 500,000 illegals here.

TEX

You will ?

RDNK

If you would turn in your guns to this socialist scum you don’t deserve to have firearms. You said ‘we’ will be turning in our firearms when they elect a socialist governor. Speak for yourself, coward !

Bandit

And to think people say CALI is bad when it comes to gun laws, at least here you CAN own a gun but in nj 8f you even get caught with one in your car you WILL spend at least 5 years in prison and maybe more. Nj is a gun free zone so lets send all the criminals and gangs there so they can have their way. If the politicians want the people disarmed then they ate going to have to lead by example and disarm the security people that they have!! If the people cannot have guns for… Read more »

California, New Jersey, New York and Illinois are 4 of the top states.for crime and 4 of the top states with the most restrictive gun laws. Do they not realize that taking the guns from honest, responsible Americans, won’t effect gun crimes? The only thing that will effect crime is getting the guns out of criminals and thugs’ hands. I guess the old saying is true… ‘Ignorance breeds Ignorance’.

D-Dog13

BOYCOTT the shore points and the casinos. this is the only language the understand!!

abelhorn

When you come for our guns send lots of body bags.

Mjmjr

New jersey sucks for ccw, so then we all should carry to protect our lifes, the police cant be all over, you take your life in your hands when you lesve the house, vote all these pos our of office and sweeney to

Kevikens

For those not familiar with NJ it is a lost cause. The Liberals so control the state government, so dominate the legislature and the courts that it is amazing that they have not totally disarmed the law abiding element. The only recourse that the law abiding have is the federal courts but even these courts in the Northeast are dominated by jurists who see nothing wrong about disarming the law abiding element of the population. Had we been able to get a case before the US Supreme Court while Scalia yet lived we might have prevailed, But now,…

Jacob M. Opperman

Empeachment people, get her out of there and reverse any thing she has done to the state. The people voted her in so vote her out and like I said get rid of any stuff she put in.

Andy

The people of NJ have to remove the likes
Of this woman from office. The people of
NJ have the same rights as the rest of the
Country.None of there brainless laws only effect
The lawfull people,if she or anyone thinks any
Other way they should not be in office

munchie

Then you would have to remove most of the people from NJ…and they would be welcome anyplace else because of their stupid politics, and their douchebag accents.

Alan

The people of NJ have the same rights as the rest of the Country.

So you say. It appears that with a view of the antics of the state legislature and state government, the present one a possibly exception, that such is far from the case.

You are right WE THE PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER. The problem is the majority of the people in NJ doesn’t care. UNLESS it affects them DIRECTLY. These politicians are more corrupt then any politician in the country. She said Gunny crime is down in our state. But yet that same week the post says crime is already higher then last year, and it’s not 6 months yet.

TEX

Run that skank out of NJ !

studi30

NJ is a deep blue gun free zone run by a Dim majority. NJ is one of three northern states to vote against Lincoln in 1860 and 1864. Stupid goes back a long way.

Charles

Thankfully I am covered under HR 218.

Tionico

well, voting against Lincoln was not a bad thing… he should have been blocked. But this charade of “justice” is a travesty. I’d like to read of this piece of work being accosted on some street in Newark, seriously threatened by some street punks…… shaken enough to certainly go “code brown”…. then listen to her rant about how nasty it is for individual citizens to have the means to defend themselves…..
