USA – -(Ammoland.com)-  American Tactical Imports FXH-45 Pistol, a 21st Century 1911.

The 1911 has been around a while and many have tried to improve upon it.

Success has been made in modernizing features here and there, but American Tactical Imports has taken things to the next level with their Firepower Xtreme Hybrid 45ACP FXH-45 1911.

American Tactical produces the FXH-45 themselves and entirely here in the United States. Modernizations include a weight-saving polymer frame reinforced with aluminum inserts, a cut slide for mounting reflex optics, and cutouts from the slide to reduce weight in ensure the gun will still cycle with an optic mounted. The gun is covered with several other small touches that make one wonder why it hadn’t been done before such as the shaping of the trigger guard.

Love the 1911 design and this is as light as my Kimber ultra carry which is great for concealment hopefullu they will get this design down to a short barrel and may even drop 1 round to shorten the height for even better concealment would probably get the weigh down by another 4oz. I like the price point and with a clean trigger sounds like a winner may have to get one of these too.

Looks like a very attractive piece–I guess/that it will soon be out in Commander-size, and then hopefully 9mm.
The only similar poly-1911 that I recall was the short-lived Wilson Combat KZ-45 and their Spec-ops 9, both now DC. I also remember a very few Bul poly .45s imported from Israel several years ago–all in all, this ATI looks to be the best of the lot. DMD

Nice! Interesting that ATI’s FXH-45 name is similar to FN’s FNX-45 name. Like the size, look, ports, rail, poly frame, 27.5 oz. weight, grip, optic mount, and low price. However, I prefer high capacity pistols. Other .45’s have 9+1, 10+1, 12+1, 13+1, 14+1, and 15+1. The FNX-45 has 15+1, but FN, Sig, and HK are higher priced. Great to see technology, materials, design, and engineering improving pistols.

Old 1811

Wow! A 1911 that field strips like a . . . 1911! What will those crazy kids think of next?!
I like the bigger trigger guard and the finger ramp, but it makes it hard to find holsters. Maybe if you can find a holster for the old Para double-actions or the even older Seecamp DAs (Remember them?), they might work.
