Students for Concealed Carry on Campus

AUSTIN, Texas -(Ammoland.com)- Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas, now holds two dubious state rankings—the most restrictive campus carry policies adopted by any public college and the second-highest number of registered sex offenders enrolled in any college, public or private.

In January, Students for Concealed Carry reported that CTC has adopted not only the University of Texas at Austin’s dubious gun-free-offices policy but also UT-Austin’s proposed empty-chamber policy, which the UT System regents struck down after experts warned that the policy would increase the risk of an accidental or negligent discharge on campus.

An April 5 report from the Houston Chronicle reveals that CTC also has the second-highest number of registered sex offenders enrolled as students.

Allison Peregory, Texas legislative director for SCC, commented, “When one student out of every thousand at your institution is a registered sex offender, disarming the students and faculty who don’t have criminal records shouldn’t be your top priority.”

About Students For Concealed Carry:

Students for Concealed Carry (SCC) is a national, non-partisan, grassroots organization comprising college students, faculty, staff, and concerned citizens who believe that holders of state-issued concealed handgun licenses should be allowed the same measure of personal protection on college campuses that current laws afford them virtually everywhere else. SCC is not affiliated with the NRA or any other organization. For more information on SCC, visit their website or Facebook.

time to ignore a few laws and protect yourself and family. Once a few rapist are shot in the act of a crime the laws will change.
if you are carrying concealed and not allowing anyone to see or know it is just like speeding down the highway…It is only illegal if you get caught.
OR you can do the economic stance and boycott the college and not go there and make sure the public all around it knows as well. The last thing a college or university needs is a loss of income

Unfortunately, students will still be filling up classrooms at Central Texas College and other small colleges, as there are too many students being pushed into higher education these days. Simply boycotting schools just won’t work. Until liberals get in their heads that they and their lax attitudes towards criminals promote criminal behaviors; reduce accountability for committing crimes; and only prohibit law-abiding citizens from protecting themselves, their loved ones, each other, and personal property; criminals will continue to victimize everyone without much regard for consequences. Schools are afraid of the liability costs of courts willing to place the blame for mass-shootings… Read more »
