POCONO MANOR, Pa. –-(Ammoland.com)- Pocono Manor Resort & Spa has received certification from the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA), the largest clay target shooting organization in the world.
With ATA certification, Pocono Manor Resort & Spa is now the only resort in the Pocono region with the ability to host registered shoots, which are ATA-member only events sanctioned by the national organization.
Pocono Manor will host its second registered shoot on September 30, 2017. Discounted overnight rates are available for participants. Along with this honor, the resort has installed five state-of-the-art Pat-Trap machines.
According to Mike Possinger, Manager of Manor Sports at Pocono Manor Resort & Spa, ATA members are required to log a minimum number of “birds” each year. “As one of few ranges in the State of Pennsylvania with this certification, nearby ATA members can now get their registered birds here at Pocono Manor, and enjoy an overnight stay too.”
The ATA governs trapshooting’s rules and regulations and seeks ways to further enhance the sport and increase participation. Each year, ATA members participate in more than 6,000 registered tournaments and shoot at more than 60 million targets.
Outdoor enthusiasts are also encouraged to save the date – October 14, 2017 – for Pocono Manor’s Family Field Day with Dunkelberger’s Sports Outfitters. The day will include instruction in shooting .22 rifles, airsoft rifles, shotguns, compound bows and crossbows, in addition to fishing and fly-fishing demos, children’s games a BBQ menu to keep you fueled and having fun all day long.
