Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- On March 19th, the Iowa state House of Representatives passed House Joint Resolution 2009 by a vote of 54-42 to propose an amendment to the state Constitution affirming and recognizing the right of Iowans’ to keep and bear arms as a fundamental individual right.

Authored by Representative Matt Windschitl (R-17), HJR 2009 will need to pass this year and next before a constitutional amendment is put on the ballot for Iowa voters to decide in 2020.

Currently, Iowa is one of six states that do not have a right to keep and bear arms amendment in its state Constitution, including California, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, and New York.

Cheers for Iowa! And they did it just in time, too, because someone here said that the Chinese are going to Iowa to steal their corn! Probably make it all into taco shells from a stolen patent.

As well as force registration onto those who already own them, and make it a felony to not pay their fee and register. Why the federal government’s DOJ quietly sits by and allows states to violate our Constitutional rights is beyond me. We are lost if they do not… Read more »

Why do “they” have to do anything? Besides are not “The People” suppose to be the ones with the ultimate say and power. We are losing it because we are willing to let it go and do nothing. P.S. the shooting portion of the revolutionary war kicked off because the British decided they want try and confiscate Colonial arms and munitions by that point the Colonialists were already at a tipping point with being fed up with unjust taxes and regulations against them.

No, we are not lost if “They do not do something”, we are lost if the PEOPLE do nothing and cry out for more Government to just “Do something.” The cry to “Do something” completely misses the fact that as Americans, it is supposed to be us that determine our destiny and stand up for our rights.

The question now is what are the citizens of Oregon going to do about it, how will you respond to the Hole known as Portland trying to drag you off a cliff?
