Producing NRA Competitive Shooting events requires intense planning, logistical considerations, and most importantly, hard work and commitment. These intricate productions simply are not possible without the participation of incredible volunteers, who step up to serve as range safety officers and other critical match staff support roles. Their contributions are invaluable, and we extend our deepest appreciation and we look forward to seeing them at our matches behind the scenes and on the firing line.
While we celebrate time-honored traditions reaching back more than a century to our roots at the Creedmoor Matches at Sea Girt, New Jersey, we look ahead to the future of our sports. The NRA sponsors lots of competitive shooting matches. They train police officers. they offer safety traimig. Its a shame their political agenda has overshadowed these constructive things. It started as a marksmanship and sportsman’s organization . It has morphed into a far right political group that opposes common sense gun safety legislation, pours hundreds of millions into our political system, mocks and taunts gun violence survivors, has a convicted gun trafficker for a president and propagates the myth that owning guns make you safer. With all due respect, you are mistaken captain. I am a competitor in the
Marine Corps rifle and pistol competitions and I saw no impropriety or irreponsibility in the program nor in the NRA programs I have attended.
