USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- This past week we had some success. For those who don’t remember, Adam Lankford’s claims that 31% of mass public shooters in the world have been in the United States received truly massive worldwide news coverage.
For years after his study’s release to the media in 2015, the New York Times and Washington Post regularly cited his claim. That is, the press cited it up until I released our research last fall — at that point they stopped mentioning it. Despite years of media attention, Lankford kept refusing to release his list of mass public shootings (our video on Lankford’s work is available here).
This past week, Carl Moody, our research director, and I published our paper on Adam Lankford’s false claims in a journal. Thankfully, our publication finally forced Lankford to release what he claims is his list of cases. And as we suspected, there was a good reason that Lankford hid his list from the media and other researchers. Get ready for round 2 soon.
There is another project that we have just started working on. Anyone who follows discussions on gun ownership across countries in the media or journals has heard of the Small Arms Surveys. Nothing is firm yet, but there are lots of red flags, just as there was with Lankford. A major one is their unwillingness to say where they obtained almost 90% of their data.
Five op-eds were published over the last two weeks, covering everything the push by Democrats in Pennsylvania to register long guns, the problems with “Red Flag” laws, our work on crime by illegal aliens in a discussion about Trump’s threat to close the Mexican border, and the Democrats new push to have felons vote while they are in prison.
The debate that I did on The Red Elephants YouTube channel was an effort to reach out to a younger audience that doesn’t watch the news, but it wasn’t much of a debate. While the young man that I debated started strongly for gun control, he ended up agreeing with me on many issues.
We could be spending full-time putting together clips on how biased television shows are against gun ownership, though I do much appreciate those who write me to point out examples.

Why aren’t every gun show and gun shop offering voter registration on site? All it would take is a gun shop employee, willing and trained by the voter registrar’s office complete with a sign on site that says register to vote here. to accomplish this. It would be informative also to customers who the local politicians are that have voted to protect our gun rights while in office by displaying their posters on site? Good for business while protecting our freedom to keep and bear arms. Go for it!
As for the press not presenting all the real facts: Vultures gotta vultch.
What? More fake science/research coming from the Left? Where they won’t show their original unaltered data so that others can repeat they research and come to the same conclusion (peer review)? Scientific method anyone?

Law suits (litigation) is only good for one thing; making lawyers richer. The laws need to be changed to where abusers of the First Amendment are held to the same level of accountability that abusers of the Second Amendment are held to: criminal prosecution, jail time, heavy fines and most important, never being allowed to publish or broadcast again. Just remember, it works both ways, the left could also use referendum to add more anti 2A laws. That has added greatly to California’s wacko laws. For some reason they can get more people to the polls then we can.

The problem is that the press and authors can print articles and “stories” without any ramifications for dishonesty. Until these agencies and individuals are litigated, they will continue to freely lie for political gains.
Chiefton – The problem is that most of the lying media is located in the Democrat controlled big cities that elect liberal judges. Seems nothing would come of it unless it could be pushed up to a Federal court that wasn’t Democrat controlled.
During O’Balmy’s second administration, the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act was passed. That made it “legal” for the news to propagandize the US American citizens. That means they can legally lie and publish lies in order to mislead us into following a false agenda.
Why isn’t Mr. Lankford busy teaching his students which is what the taxpayers of AL are paying him to do instead of trying to gain fame writing false reports? I’m sure he has students who really need his help and are unable to get access because he is too busy writing ‘stories’.

I suggest that others do what I have done. Write to the University of Alabama and note Lankford’s malfeasance. If enough do, he will find that academic fraud is ill advised.
Seems that those who have an agenda inimical to our freedoms like to play fast and loose with the truth.
I’m a veteran and I just don’t see how people can sit by and say we need gun control or have what the y have DOWN UNDER. Australia is trying to push their agenda of no guns for the private sector of people. I will never surrender my guns unless I am dead, even then I might put up a fight. I drive semi for a living and see everyday people carrying and not being a threat to society.

Exactly…”a car” ! A car that wasn’t even registered to him or his mother. It was owned by someone totally left out of the story. I’ll bet Wolfgang Halbig, the ex Florida State Trooper and school safety expert, has the data on that.
