USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- Our rights as American citizens, like the muscles in our body, require exercise or else they will start to deteriorate over time. When it comes to our right to bear arms, exercising it can be as simple as taking your handgun to the range.

To truly protect our rights, however, we need to have a say in who makes our laws.

When candidates for the most prestigious elected office in our country are proud to say that they want to confiscate the legally purchased firearms that millions of responsible gun owners use recreationally,  to hunt or protect their families, America’s gun owners need to vote to make sure our rights are never infringed upon by opportunist politicians seeking soundbites rather than Real Solutions that make our communities safer.

NSSF Keeps You Informed

That is precisely why the NSSF, as the firearms industry’s trade association, created #GUNVOTE. Once you are registered to vote, #GUNVOTE becomes your one-stop shop for everything an American gun owner needs to know about how to make a difference in our elections. First, it is important to arm oneself with knowledge about the candidates that you will vote for and how those candidates will treat our Second Amendment rights.

For instance, the #GUNVOTE candidate tracker keeps a comprehensive, up to date, and detailed list of every candidate running for president and what those candidates have said that could impact your right to keep and bear arms. Over one year away from the 2020 presidential election, many of the presidential candidates’ platforms already call for ill-informed and extremist positions such as firearm confiscation, bans on popular sporting rifles, federal licensing programs, prohibitive ammunition taxes, and more. With #GUNVOTE, you can easily find out who will protect your rights and who is proposing radical agendas that will do nothing to improve public safety.

Get Informed, Go Vote

Once armed with the facts, #GUNVOTE will help you figure out when and where you can cast your vote. Early voting and absentee voting differs from state to state, but #GUNVOTE conveniently lists out all U.S states with links to their respective Secretary of State’s website where more details about the process can be found. For those who wait until election day to cast their ballot, #GUNVOTE will also tell you your polling place so that exercising your right to vote is as easy as possible.

Ultimately, #GUNVOTE is a tool created to ensure every citizen understands the importance of voting to protect America’s firearms freedoms. At the same time, however, #GUNVOTE is a tool that is only as effective as the people who use it. It is our duty as gun owners to use the information provided by #GUNVOTE to ensure that we bring our friends, family, and ourselves to the polls to protect our rights that, once taken away, we will never be able to truly restore.

Politicians who support this notion will regret the day they ever heard of red flag laws. Currently, they allow a crotchety aunt to complain about a blustery nephew and state police will confiscate his firearms. These laws empower government to repress people based on suspicion alone. Their legacies will carry a Supreme Court scolding and perhaps be the landmark of their careers. The Supreme Court isn’t about to jeopardize its own reputation by reducing the ability of private citizens to defend themselves. It’s especially important to the justices because currently, half the nation’s murders occur in only 63 counties while… Read more »

@GR, Often long replies tend to meander, but this was not too bad. I hope that you are right about the S. CT.

I’m going to share this. It’s good.

NSSF? They’re nothin!g but a front/shill for the BATFE.

Vote for the one who took away gun rights and plans on taking more or the one who says they will take away gun rights ?
I’m not seeing the vote at all.

In my experience with over a half century of voting, there are many elections in which there is no candidate you would want to vote for. But I have very rarely seen any election in which there wasn’t one or more candidates worth voting against. Yes, sometimes that does mean a vote for “the lesser of two evils” — grow up and join the real world. There is no such thing as not voting in an election — if you don’t go vote, then YOU HAVE VOTED for whoever the people who did get off their asses want in office.… Read more »

You are absolutely correct, people who blow off elections end up with idiots like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. Every election is important because the left is counting on conservatives staying home on election day.

Screw NSSF! They’re just as bad as the NRA. They were OK with banning suppressors, bump stocks, FixNICS, and let’s not forget they’re 100% on board with totally unconstitutional legislation like NFA, GCA, Hughes, Lautenberg, etc.

With “friends” like these, who needs enemies??

WF I guess it would not be a good thing to sign up for their “gunvote” and listen to who they think would be our best candidates. It would be right in there with the NRA’s recommended politicians.

No politician can be trusted! They ALL LIE and betray the Constitution, destroy your rights, enrich themselves, and are dismantling our Republic to create a totalitarian police state!

“NSSF Keeps You Informed”

The people who supported the bump stock ban and fix nics?

Much like the NRA.
