We fixed Bill Lee’s “tweet” about Red Flag laws

We fixed Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s Tweet about the need for Red Flag laws – but he still demands that the Legislature enact gun confiscation in a Special Session!

Friends,

Governor Bill Lee has demanded for months now that the primary response he has to the Covenant murders is gun control that seizes firearms from individuals who have not committed any crimes. He supports Red Flag laws.

Although polling shows that 84% of Tennesseans want to remove mentally ill people who are a medically established danger to themselves or others from the community to get them treatment, Bill Lee wants to send armed officers into their homes to seize the guns but leave those dangerous individuals free to do harm in the community.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee put his proposal on Twitter but that tweet needed to be corrected – at least to reflect the need to remove dangerous, mentally ill people from their victims.

We are sharing this message as broadly as possible and it is working. Numerous state Legislators openly reject Bill Lee’s veiled effort to help them Democrats by enacting gun control in Tennessee.

We would have hoped that it was not necessary to push this message as hard as we are but there are many Democrats who are salivating at the support Bill Lee is giving to one of their issues. There are a number of Republicans who are supporting his proposal – like Lt. Governor Randy McNally – as well.

TFALAC presently is implementing the Red Flag Down campaign with radio and video ads running statewide that started on August 1. All the funds we are raising with this campaign are working to protect our rights from gun control agenda of Bill Lee and the Democrats. We want to increase the pressure.

With additional funding we can expand the Red Flag Down campaign to educate and empower more Tennesseans. We can secure the support of more legislators. We can stop the radical left and Bill Lee’s gun control agenda in Nashville.

Seemingly the most effective thing that can be done is in the next election retire Mr. Lee as all civilian disarmament politicians should be to the dust bin of history..

Ope, I can answer that….it is because the population in the USA is getting younger all the time and them young folk do not have enough life experiences to understand what it means to be your own self protector. They wrongfully think that if you outlaw firearms then criminals won’t have them. For the most part, they are stooopid…..that is all!

OK, Bill. I will bite. So, the Covenant school shooter is the motivation behind your Red Flag Law push. So why not release the shooter’s manifesto to the public and let them judge? After all, motive is key to understanding crime.

Zhukov

Never going to happen. It most likely is an indictment against the school and some of its leaders and staff.

Finnky

Not likely as school was secondary target selected because primary was too well defended. I imagine manifesto says it wanted to get glory for some horrific act, and schools containing precious children are incredibly vulnerable – thus school selected for lack of defenses. In other words – manifesto is a strong inditement of antis approach and provides strong support for allowing school staff to be armed. Look at principal at Covenant. She ran across campus to face the shooter – UNARMED. A modicum of training and gear could have potentially saved her life at that point. A sign, accurately stating… Read more »

Hey Bill you took a oath, you violated it . Resign !

Cappy

So what if we enact a Red Flag law for politicians who are so stupid or malicious as to be a danger to themselves and others? Wouldn’t that clean up the dummycrap party to the extent that none would be left? We’d probably get a few from the other side of the aisle, but it would seem to be of benefit to all concerned.

Laddyboy

IF a person cannot be trusted to be around others due to harming them, THAT PERSON SHOULD NOT BE CIRCULATING IN PUBLIC!! BRING back the ASSALUMS which were there to HELP people who are WANTON to HARM OTHERS!!!!!

Stag

The guy just proved to you that he’s more than willing to violate his oath and our rights by enacting arms laws and you want to give him the chance to do it again? He even advocated for red flag laws!

i could see red flag laws if there are very severe penalties for those who would file false “claims”. this law is a blessing for those who are vindictive. and there are millions and millions of them

Laddyboy

Using “hasbeen’s” Idea: “i could see red flag laws if there are very severe penalties for those who would file false “claims”. this law is a blessing for those who are vindictive. and there are millions and millions of them about passing a law”, How about passing a RED FLAG LAW which CONVICTS “POLITICIANS” who FALSELY CLAIM they will protect the Constitution against ENEMIES, both DOMESTIC and Foreign — WHEN THEY SWORE AN OATH-OF-OFFICE! Is this NOT the SAME thing as FILING a FALSE CLAIM when they BLATANTLY LIE after their SWORN OATH-OF-OFFICE???

Bill

I would dearly love to know just how many of the “mass murderers” are on mood-altering or psychotropic drugs or have recently stopped using them!
I can’t seem to find that data anywhere. Gee I wonder why?
