VP In Waiting: J.D. Vance Has Loads of 2A Cred, Will Drive Antis Crazy

Freshman U.S. Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, nominated to run as Donald Trump’s vice president this fall, has solid credentials as a Second Amendment stalwart, giving American gun owners all the reason necessary to vote in November and be done with the vehemently anti-gun Biden-Harris administration.

Long story short, Vance as a U.S. Senator already makes anti-gunners grimace. As vice president, he just might drive them crazy.

For a look at how the gun prohibition lobby is reacting, just look at the Everytown for Gun Safety website. “He opposed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and supported arming teachers in classrooms,” Everytown complains, as though Vance’s positions may cause the earth to reverse orbit.

The Washington Post is reporting almost breathlessly that “In 2022, Vance said he favored abolishing the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which enforces federal gun laws.”

Vance as a solid 2A candidate appears to be the prevailing view from leading authorities in the firearms community, making him the perfect contrast to Kamala Harris, who has never seen a gun control proposal she didn’t reflexively embrace. If they debate, Vance will likely shred Harris on the subject of guns, rights and violent crime.

Randy Kozuch, chairman of the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund, released a statement extolling Vance’s 2A virtues: “President Trump has made an outstanding choice in selecting Senator Vance as his vice presidential pick and running mate in the upcoming election. Senator Vance has been an unwavering supporter of constitutional freedoms, especially the right to keep and bear arms. In the U.S. Senate, he has consistently stood against the Biden-Harris gun control agenda. Between now and November, the NRA and its millions of members will engage with America’s gun owners about the importance of electing the Trump-Vance ticket.”

Likewise, Lawrence Keane, senior vice president and general counsel at the National Shooting Sports Foundation, wrote in a blog, “In naming Sen. Vance his running mate for the 2024 election, former President Trump has tapped a strong Second Amendment stalwart and someone who proudly stands with the firearm industry and law-abiding Americans from coast-to-coast who believe in exercising their Constitutional rights to keep and bear arms.”

When he wrote in an Op-Ed published by the Columbus Dispatch on July 20, 2021, Vance observed, “But I will be the first to admit that gun violence rates are too high in this country. At the same time, Democrat arguments for gun control rest on a series of falsehoods.

“Violence in our country is much more about density than guns,” he continued. “That’s why the Biden Administration’s dull attempts to curb gun violence don’t work and they threaten the very foundation of the rights we are afforded as free, American citizens.

“Biden has also pushed for executive orders that would restrict ‘ghost guns’ and certain types of firearm braces,” Vance wrote. “This is the worst kind of political showmanship: these restrictions will make it harder for law-abiding Ohioans to exercise their Second Amendment rights and neither will have even a small effect on gun violence in our country.”

When he was running for office, Grupexit recalled, Vance vowed to “fight those who confiscate guns, whether it’s federal bureaucrats passing laws or multinational corporations punishing people for exercising their rights.”

NBC News was quick to reveal, whether intentionally or otherwise, the Biden campaign’s strategy to portray Vance as an extremist, while also acknowledging the Biden Bunch’s intention of campaigning on the abortion issue. After all, Biden cannot possibly run on his economic record, or on border security, and even on his foreign policy agenda, which has been a disaster from Afghanistan to Ukraine.

As described by PBS, Vance is the epitome of a Horatio Alger character; the impoverished youngster who climbed from rags to riches, or at least comfortable upper middle class.

Vance is a Marine Corps veteran who attended Ohio State University and Yale Law School. “He worked as a corporate lawyer before moving into the tech industry as a venture capitalist,” PBS detailed.

Where some may still harbor concerns about former President Trump when it comes to guns, Vance is reportedly is a good friend of Donald Trump, Jr., who is widely known as an avid hunter and shooter.

In summation, J.D. Vance may be the closest thing to perfection for America’s “gun voters” in an election where every vote will count.

And over the next 16 weeks, all of those voters need to be reminded to ignore any mention of a “red wave,” because that sort of talk cultivates apathy and provides an excuse for not voting. Ditto, claims that “your vote won’t count,” which only discourages people from voting. This was the mistake Virginia voters made last year, and America’s gun voters made in 2020. Grassroots gun rights activists know this cannot happen again.

The hands on the clock move forward the election in November 2024 gets closer as that clock ticks. We will have to wait and see what the democrats and the media fabricate about this Vance. One can only hope the republican party as a whole will come together and fight for our country and stand behind Trump and Vance.
