In a move that’s sending shockwaves through Washington, President Donald Trump and Elon Musk run Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are systematically dismantling federal bureaucracy, slashing leases, and offloading unwanted government buildings like they’re surplus inventory at a pawn shop.
Even the infamous gun banner Nancy Pelosi’s namesake Federal Building is now on the chopping block, gun owners can’t help but wonder—what’s next? And more importantly, what will happen to the Ariel Rios Federal Building if the ATF is finally put out to pasture?

Musk and Trump are running a government-wide yard sale, with DOGE slashing nearly 100 federal leases and planning to sell off 500 buildings. It is growing by the day; this “leaner and meaner” federal footprint is already hitting Washington, D.C., hard, with thousands of bureaucrats scrambling to find new office space—or new job
Shocking Discovery: Musk Calls for Investigation
A former ICE employee and Biden transition team member allegedly helped Family Endeavors secure a sole-source contract from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for overflow housing. The result? The organization’s cash and investment portfolio skyrocketed from $8.3 million in 2020 to $520.4 million in 2023.
Even worse, since March 2024, HHS has been paying $18 million per month to keep a completely empty Pecos, Texas facility open. Thanks to the Trump administration’s crackdown, the contract was finally terminated, saving taxpayers over $215 million annually.
Elon Musk wasted no time, taking to X (formerly Twitter) to demand accountability, tagging U.S. Attorney Ed Martin to investigate.

But for Second Amendment supporters, there’s one building that deserves an extra-special fate: the ATF’s headquarters.
With corruption being exposed left and right, and DOGE already selling off federal buildings—including the infamous Nancy Pelosi Federal Building—the big question remains: What happens to the ATF if Trump finally disbands it?
Ariel Rios Federal Building: Prime for Repurposing?
The Ariel Rios Federal Building, home to the ATF since 2008, is already sitting in the crosshairs of speculation. If Trump follows through on his long-time goal of dismantling the out of control unaccountable agency that brought us Waco, Ruby Ridge, and decades of unconstitutional gun control overreach, the ATF’s headquarters could be the next piece of federal property on the market.
The only question is—what should we do with it?
Repurpose the ATF Headquarters!
Gun owners, this is your chance to have some fun imagining a better future for the Ariel Rios Building. Here are a sample of questions. Should it become:
- ✅ A Firearms Museum and Education Center—because history matters.
- ✅ A National Dog Rescue & Adoption Center—to atone for the ATF’s track record.
- ✅ A Public Shooting Range—a perfect way to honor the agency’s unintended contributions to gun sales.
- ✅ A Second Amendment Memorial—lest we forget the battles fought to restore our rights.
- ✅ Or should it just be demolished and turned into a park—so freedom can finally breathe?

Save the Dogs, Sell the ATF Building
It’s ironic that the same agency known for “losing” firearms, entrapment schemes, and violating constitutional rights is also infamous for shooting dogs during raids. That’s why one of the best proposals is to turn the ATF’s former home into a massive, no-kill animal shelter—perhaps named after some of the four-legged friends they wronged.
DOGE has already shown no hesitation in cutting the fat from the federal government. With Musk and Trump leading the charge, maybe, just maybe, we’ll finally see the ATF go the way of the Pelosi Federal Building—straight into the liquidation bin.

Make a dang museum out of it so people will know and remember what unconstitutional law enforcement, tyranny and treason, terrorism, murder, murder by proxy, assault, home invasion, theft, grand theft, threats, intimidation, outright lies and perjury in court under government fiat was. Do this because those who don’t remember history tend to repeat it. Make sure there are picture I.D’S, badge numbers, home addresses, phone numbers, vehicle I.D.’s and lic. plate numbers of every person who ever worked with or for the atf.
Arm up and carry on
I like MusicMan44’s idea to turn the ATF building into a holding facility for imprisoning politicians (looks at YOU PeeLousi and UpChuck) and deporting illegals.
A great idea for the short term. But only temporarily.
BUT….for the long term, turn the ATF Building into what we’ve all said what the ATF should really be….a one stop general store to be able to buy alcohol, tobacco, firearms (and ammo) and explosives.

Raze the building and turn the entirety of the land site into a memorial park for all the murdered victims of ATF and all those who lost fortunes defending their supposed “protected, natural rights”, enumerated and unenumerated.
Distribution center for surplus military firearms to be sold through the Civilian Marksmanship Program.
Lease the building out and use the money to investigate and prosecute all agents involved in the Ruby Ridge and Waco murders . Send thier corrupt asses to jail .

Turn it into a fenced in dog park, so dogs can run around and play there. Hire at most 7 of the former FBATFE execs as pooper scoopers. At minimum wage.
