De Oppresso Liber – Free the Oppressed.

I am Timothy Knight, former NRA Director, a grassroots activist who has been at the forefront of Second Amendment advocacy, and an NRA Whistleblower. I stand before you to wholeheartedly endorse Sergeant Major Howard L. Massingill Jr. (Ret.) for the NRA Board of Directors.

Howard Massingill

Howard Massingill is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Sergeant Major whose military career speaks volumes about his character, leadership, and dedication to service. A Life Member of the NRA, Mr. Massingill served 26 years in the U.S. Army, including 20 years in Special Forces and three deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His motto, “De Oppresso Liber,” reflects not only his service ethos but also his commitment to defending our freedoms, including the Second Amendment.

His qualifications extend beyond his military service. Howard is a Federal Firearms Licensee, bringing firsthand experience in the practical implications of firearms legislation and regulations. His role as a gunsmithing instructor further solidifies his deep understanding of firearms, their mechanics, and the culture surrounding them. This knowledge is invaluable for someone who will be making decisions that affect millions of gun owners and enthusiasts.

The rank of Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army commands immense respect and trust. Both generals and enlisted personnel value their opinions because they embody the spirit, knowledge, and discipline of the military. This respect is earned through years of proven leadership, tactical acumen, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of those under their command. Howard’s experience at this level means he understands the nuances of leadership, the importance of unity, and the critical role of trust within an organization.

The NRA, at this juncture, is in dire need of repair. It requires leaders who are not only trusted but are also grounded, willing to engage directly with members, listen to their concerns, and act with integrity. Howard Massingill has already proven his ability to do this hard work. His military career has prepared him to navigate complex situations, build consensus, and lead with honor.

In Howard, I see a candidate who will work tirelessly to restore the NRA to its core mission of safeguarding our constitutional rights.

His commitment to transparency, member engagement, and ethical leadership is exactly what the NRA needs to move forward.

I urge all NRA members to vote for Sergeant Major Howard Massingill for the 2025 NRA Board of Directors. Let’s bring in a leader who has not only fought for our freedoms abroad but will continue that fight on the home front, ensuring the NRA remains a beacon of integrity and advocacy for the Second Amendment.

To those that are talking bad about the NRA. I agree but there is one thing I always keep in mind. Who started it all in the first place.

Too bad they screwed up but the more irons in the fire the better so maybe it was a good thing because now when there is an issue with We the Peoples un-government, we have more than one association to represent us.

The more the merrier!!!!!

Great now no one can walk on the grass and there will be sock checks daily

With a name like that, the Sergeant Major might just be what the NRA needs to clean it out and keep it fresh as a Summer’s eve!

There’s no saving Negotiating Rights Away.
All of these people who are running as “reformers” should instead be putting their time and effort and money into groups who don’t have a 91 year history of Negotiating Rights Away, and 40 plus year history of stealing members dues.

What is the goal? Saving a corrupt, rotten, suicidal organization or defending and strengthening the Second Amendment? These reformers seem to have their priorities out of order.
