“You do not enter a race to lose” ~ Leigh Bardugo.

On 7th October 2023, Israeli citizens (at least those who are still alive and paying attention) learned an important lesson about defensive firearms- guns that are continuously in the hands of individual private citizens.
We need to pay attention, too, at least those who value our lives and continued good health!
On the fateful day, a “security team” was supposedly in place at the Ein Hashlosha Kabbutz. But it was only a “security team” in name!
Even among team members, there was the universal assumption that “The IDF will protect us, so we don’t need to take our personal safety, nor the safety of our community, seriously” (and most didn’t)
When the unthinkable happened, most “security team” members immediately panicked, fled, and hid, contributing little to anyone’s defense.
I’m confident that wasn’t “The Plan!”
Of the “security team’s” fourteen members, a few had privately owned handguns but only a small amount of ammunition. Most had no weapons at all. Only four military rifles were assigned to the team, but those rifles were not privately owned or kept. They were all government property “on loan” to the community and locked up in an impromptu storage area.
However, the IDF was unhappy with the stowage arrangements for these rifles, so a year earlier, the rifles were taken away from the community by the IDF, with the admonishment that they would be returned only when the community built a suitably secure “armory.”
That never happened! The stage was now set, and the rest is, of course, history.
Regrettably, the foregoing murderous catastrophe is nothing new in world history, and events like this are exactly the reason our Constitution’s Second Amendment was written as it was.
We may hire civilian police officers to provide some degree of “community protection,” yet as sovereign citizens of the USA, our protective guns are privately owned and privately kept. It is an Individual Right of Citizenship, not an arbitrary privilege, nor a “favor,” capriciously granted (to “select individuals”) by smug government officials.
This disaster painfully illustrates the difference between publicly-owned weapons and privately-owned weapons!
Either way, well-protected government officials will forever look upon innocent citizens as expendable cannon-fodder.
They always have, as we see!
“My baseball career spanned almost five decades, from 1925 to 1973, count them, and in all that time I never had a boss call me upstairs so that he could congratulate me for ‘losing like a gentleman.’
‘How you play the game’ is for college boys.
When you’re playing for money, winning is the only thing that matters. Show me a ‘good loser’ in professional sports, and I’ll show you an idiot.
Show me a ‘sportsman,’ and I’ll show you a player I’m looking to trade to Oakland, so that he can discuss his salary with that other ‘great sportsmen,’” ~ Leo Durocher.

Rediscovering the Second Amendment: A Call to Arms for Common Defense ~ DEEP DIVE
Following Terrorist Attack, Israel Relaxes Gun Laws and Arms Civilians
About John Farnam & Defense Training International, Inc
As a defensive weapons and tactics instructor, John Farnam will urge you, based on your beliefs, to make up your mind about what you would do when faced with an imminent lethal threat. You should, of course, also decide what preparations you should make in advance if any. Defense Training International wants to ensure that its students fully understand the physical, legal, psychological, and societal consequences of their actions or in-actions.
It is our duty to make you aware of certain unpleasant physical realities intrinsic to Planet Earth. Mr. Farnam is happy to be your counselor and advisor. Visit: www.defense-training.com

What the author fails to mention is that month before, when the rifles were collected, the IDF also confiscated the pistols and personal firearms that the members of the Kibbutz DID own… leaving them completely defenseless.

A rifle behind every blade of grass has been a deterrent for decades and no dumb Democrat will change that in Montana . Sorry Israel had to learn the hard way that the governments rhetoric is not a guarantee of safety from people with evil intentions . Arm up and stay armed up your life may depend on it .
When then Secretary of State Hillary Rodent Clinton visited US forces deployed to Bosnia, Clinton’s security detail arrived 12 hours prior to the visit and promptly collected all weapons and ammo from the Americans. Who were positioned up against the hostile Serbian border. Even camp lookouts and observation posts were disarmed with no exceptions. And only when the visit was over, and Clinton was in the air again were the isolated Americans permitted to rearm.
This is how all things Government always are. It has no political party affiliation. There are greater and lesser degrees of it, but always, you will not have your weapon.

Probably the best report ever posted on Ammoland. It touches all the key points begins 2A.
As long as the Israeli citizens permit the ruling political party to make all the decisions for them, they will continue to suffer the consequences. It’s not the government that decided to prohibit Israelis from owning firearms. The government of Israel does what it’s ordered to do; it bows to the will of the people in charge just like the “Biden Administration” did the last four years in this country.
The biggest difference between Israel and the USA is that Israel has one controlling political party while for the moment the USA has two competing parties.
Not any different from our military.
“Either way, well-protected government officials will forever look upon innocent citizens as expendable cannon-fodder.” If you are defining “cannon fodder” and sacrifices to waste enemy physical resources (ammo, explosives, etc) as well as attack-shock wasting time, I agree. Part of that though is using those poor, sheep of citizens as a trip wire warning to evacuate, before the “important” people controlling the disarmament are endangered.
Too bad you can’t always cure crazy, which is what the democrat, socialist, Marxists way of thinking is.
If you take away the guns from the people than you have a disarmed society which is susceptible to attack because they have no way to defend themselves. Think Japan and what is implied what Yamamoto said.
Re: Farnam’s closing comments.
Politically, Republicans play like gentlemen and Democrats play like professionals. To that end, Democrats don’t give a whit about what is good for the country or its citizens. Only in beating Republicans in anything and everything..
