In my humble opinion the 223 version is a GREAT value. I have a couple of them and they perform Great
I just assembled a rifle with one of their .22Mag upper groups. It’s a good shooting gun.
Last month these were advertised here so I checked out their website. I bought the SS fluted bbl in a 20″ length. It’s definitely a low cost, no frills upper but I can’t fault it for the price. I mated it to a Andersen lower. I make my own ammo. I was testing 62 grains rounds but since I run it suppressed I ran some 68 grains rounds I made that perform well in my Springfield Saint. I bought Bear Creek uppers , 2 – 20 inch 6.5 Grendel and a 18 inch 450 Bushmaster and all three have functioned flawlessly.
A few weeks ago they had a sweet 6.5CM complete upper and it looked great, so I bought it. …BUT… the rear where the takedown pin goes through is off by a fraction and I’ll have to mill that ever-so-slightly so it doesn’t bind. Looking for a high-quality optic, ambi charging handle, and ammo now.
I like to customize my guns, but if you’re not inclined, don’t have the tools, or just want to start shooting right out of the box, don’t buy from BCA. There’s a reason why they’re cheap! Better to go with Palmetto State Armory.
I recently got the 7.5″ top charging AR 5.56 upper & mated it to an SBR with and H2 buffer that currently has a 10.5″ upper on it. Got it to the range, but I only took one steel mag with me. I was shooting 55 gr. 5.56 and got numerous failures to eject. I ran about 100 rounds thru it and probably had 20 – 25 FFE’s & FFF’s. I wrote the issues off to it being new and to possibly the mag, so next week I’ll get it back out to the range, after giving it a thorough… Read more »
