I own a taurus 1911 in 38 super,To date and the second trip to the awesome Taurus repair facility in Florida, the thumb safety is inoperative. The people at Taurus really do not seem to give a damn about repairing this weapon. that being said their lifetime warranty is no better than the people repairing the gun. This was the first and last taurus firearm I will ever own simply for the fact that their reapair dept is rude slow and completely incompetant.

Just bought my very first 1911 adn it is the 1911 taurus. i havent had the chance to shoot it yet but i already love this gun!!!

Awesome gun. I don’t know if I will be willing to drop $1600, I’m sure there will be sales soon (hopefully).

Matching serial numbers is a smart idea.

Thanks for the update!
