Columbus, OH –-(Ammoland.com)- It seems that the most dangerous and well-funded group within the animal rights lobby, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is again trying to reposition itself to seem mainstream.

That transformation is a new “Faith Outreach” effort. Yes, HSUS is attempting to align itself with religions.

This path closely follows the animal rights group’s programs that have thrust its tentacles into school systems and young student minds around the nation. Churches should definitely beware.

The programs championed by HSUS outreach efforts include articles promoting a connection between animal rights and the congregations of the Unitarian Universalists and the United Church of Christ. And the HSUS furthers the connecting efforts by pushing pro-animal-rights statements attributed to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Episcopal Church and others religious affiliations.

Seems nearly any sermon can be twisted as promoting animal rights.

These twists could have been far from the intent of the speaker or presenter when the materials were spoken or presented. This doesn’t matter to HSUS.

Real eyebrows are raised, however, when you discover the HSUS’s St. Francis Day in a Box project.

A $15 toolkit promoting the animal rights philosophy includes: the Chronicles of Narnia; Animal Protection Ministries: A Guide for Churches; Eating Mercifully; the CAFO Reader: The Tragedy of Industrial Animal Factories (a stab at farming); and many others. These animal rights agenda packets are sold to churches, or congregation members, to raise funds for HSUS.

While this propaganda intertwines religion and animal rights as connected crusading causes, there is an obvious lack of religious tolerance in the missing mention of St. Hubertus, the patron Saint of Hunters. And of course the “toolkit” includes envelopes and instructions on how to collect funds in the names of pets, animals and wildlife, and then send those funds directly to HSUS.

NOBODY is going to take away your stupid guns, ever.

Ever ever ever.

Stop whining and find something real to complain about.

Chronic Dissatisfaction Syndrome is soooo boring.

Texast100 you sound like the anti-gun crowd, all talk, about how you are the new majority, when we all know the general public sees right through this nonsense. Good luck in your dream world.

Angie Loss

@Texast1000…what planet are you living on? No one is giving up meat? I agree the only way your side can get public attention is if the we meat eating majority talk about you, but the idea that humans will give up eating the animals that God put here for us to eat is just laughable. You are delusional, maybe it is from protein deficiency?

Here is the thing none of you seem to realize, the animal welfare people love when you talk about them, write about them, fight them, complain about them etc. Do you know why? It is because you are losing this fight, badly. Beef consumption has plummeted in the last 15 years, this year, chicken demand is way down, laws are being passed across the country shutting down efforts to harm, kill, hunt, abuse, raise/slaughter animals at an incredible rate of speed. This is very normal social science, when one group begins to lose, they yell, scream, attack, whine, and on… Read more »

Despite the above two H$U$ apologists'/accolytes' inane attempts to minimize your concerns, you are right on track. Keep up the good work you are doing exposing H$U$ for what it truly is. It's greatly needed and long overdue.

Yeah I agree they need more coverage of these Vegan Animal rights freaks and their insistence on imposing their twisted beliefs on the rest of us.

Kill it and Grill It …Go Meat!

What! No mention of The-Great-Vegan-World-Takeover theory ?

Or the HSUS-Covert-Plot-To-Swipe-Everybody's-Pets ?

Or the Animal-Rights-Black-Ops-Agriculture-Elimination agenda?

Maybe those are for the next article.

One wonders if this writer watched any of the videos in the package, most importantly, Eating Mercifully. A rage filled tirade like this shows the author is not a journalist, but an angry man with a keyboard, upset as he watches his little right wing bigoted world collapse around him
