NEWINGTON, N.H. –-(Ammoland.com)- If Max Michel felt any additional pressure by competing in front of colleagues and sponsors, his performance showed no evidence of it. Michel won the Open Division and the high overall title at the United States Practical Shooting Association’s Area 7 Championships, held Sept. 12-15 at the SIG SAUER Academy in Epping, NH.

Michel, SIG SAUER team captain and a frequent instructor at the manufacturer’s training academy, took the top spot with a margin of more than five percentage points over the runner up. A wet and sometimes muddy range did little to break the multiple-time world champion from his game plan.

“Winning the Area 7 title at the SIG SAUER Academy meant a lot to me,” Michel said. “I’m proud to be the ‘SIG guy’ and when I hear shooters talking about how much they enjoyed the event and how great the facility is, I couldn’t be happier.”

The SIG SAUER Academy, one of the nation’s premier training facilities for military, law enforcement and responsible citizens, welcomed competitors to the site.

“It was great to see a full range of competitors all weekend,” said Adam Painchaud, SIG SAUER Academy Director. “From adults to the junior shooters, action pistol competition is an activity the whole family can safely enjoy, and we’re big fans of that.”

Next up, Michel is off to Utah to take on the top USPSA Open Division competitors at the Open National Championship, where Michel is a six-time winner.
